 Because actual experience is an excellent teacher, Manchester College provides a number of field experiences for its students. An internship is a unit of work performed in actual service for a public/private organization. This experience links classroom instruction to a career. Because an internship serves as a trial period in a career, it is available only to junior and senior students who demonstrate academic and personal maturity appropriate to the position.
Exercise and Sport Sciences majors serve internships around the world and close to home, working for schools, fitness centers and professional sports teams. The valuable experience they earn and the contacts they make help them to get started with successful, rewarding careers after graduation.

- Joe Tretter '01 was an activity specialist at YMCA Camp Crosley in North Webster, Ind.
- Travis Beery '00 acted as a day care assistant at Bourbon 1st Step Day Care, in Bourbon, Ind.
- Heather Hein '99 interned as a teaching assistant in Kids Kampus in Huntington, Ind.
