Environmental and Retreat Center

Koinonia Environmental and Retreat Center, which is owned and operated by Manchester College, is located approximately 12 miles north of North Manchester or just south of Pierceton in Kosciusko County, Indiana. Measuring around 100 acres, Koinonia is ecologically diverse, consisting of hardwood and pine forests, a five acre kettle lake surrounded by a large wetland complex with a walkway and observation decks, and a restored prairie, which we burned on April 6, 2005.

Look at our new handicapped walk bridge. Thank you Paragon Medical and CVS Pharmacy for your support of this project.  Also, a big thanks to Justin Kranzman and the rest of the scout troop that put the bridge together! It looks great.

Our nature center, which houses our labs and museum with many hands-on exhibits, is located in the top level of our two-story 40 x 100-foot building Our retreat center is located on the lower level.

Our Indiana Heritage Program will be held on May 1-2 this year. Mark your class calendars.

We also offer workshops, such as Project WILD, nature photography, and workshops for science teachers. Wetland programs are being planned as are more programs for the public.  In fact, there will be an owl prowl at Koinonia on Jan. 29th at 6:30 p.m.  Come and listen to some owls!
