Contest Description On March 25, the Mathematics and Computer Science Department will be sponsoring its 15th annual mathematics contest for 7th and 8th graders attending Manchester Junior High, Northfield Junior High, Southwood Junior High and Wabash Middle School. The contest is held in the Manchester College Science Center. Eighty students compete for individual as well as team awards. The individual competition consists of a written exam of 30 questions and a flash round where students answer 15 questions in sequence with a limited amount of time to respond to each. Top finishers in each grade receive ribbons (4th-10th place), trophies (2nd & 3rd) and a graphing calculator (1st). Teams consist of one student from each of the four schools working together on a set of more challenging questions, with the top five of 20 teams receiving ribbons.
