Oct 2nd: *Play "Marx in Soho" Wine Recital Hall @7pm. Learn about the life of Karl Marx through a one-person drama; talk back session, following.

Oct 4th-8th: United Sexualities will be hosting Pride Week, look for the week's various activities including the Day of Silence and The Coming Out Vigil

Oct 4th: Kenapoc @9pm Ken & Viona Brown's House 702. E 9th St.

Topic: Jim Fitz, from Christian Peacemaker Teams, will share his experience as a peace witness in Colombia.

Oct 7th: Peace House Movie @10pm. Come to the Peace House to watch social justice films each Thursday night.

Screening: MILK. Learn about the life and legacy of gay rights leader Harvey Milk as he runs for office.

Oct 8th: International Fashion Show @7pm Upper Union. Support the Office of Multicultural Affairs as they parade in cultural garb and festivity!

Oct 9th: Big Read Barn Trip! @9am-1pm. Meet at the Peace House at 9am to carpool. Join us as we visit a local farm & yarn store striving for sustainability and organic practices. We will tour the farm and visit the yarn store. Meet alpacas, chickens, walk through trails, learn spinning, knitting, and shop for local fabrics and yarn.

Oct 11th: Kenapoc @ 9pm: TBA

Oct 14th: Dream Quilt Exhibit All day on the Library's wall. Check out an extraordinary exhibit for immigrant rights, sponsored by Hispanos Unidos and the Peace Studies Institute.

Dream Act Speaker @6:30pm Location: TBA. Learn about the Dream Act and how it could improve the lives of immigrants in the United States. There will be a presentation, video, and Q & A session.

Peace House Movie @ 10pm. Screening: Battle in Seattle. This film is a drama retelling the WTO protests in Washington 1999.

Oct 15th-19th: Fall Break Trip!

1.)Oct 15th- Christian Peacemaker Teams Fundraiser Gala in Goshen. MU students will volunteer at the gala helping with set up & tear down, decorating, selling desserts, staffing a silent auction, helping with children's activities, and more.

2.) Oct 16th-19th- Volunteering at the Christian Peacemaker Teams Office in Chicago. We will help with handiwork to set up the organization's new office. We are also planning other activities in Chicago such as catching an anti-war and occupation protest, going to the Shedd Aquarium and Navy Pier, and visiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and more! We will be returning Oct 19th, the day before classes start.

Oct 21st: Peace House Movie @ 10pm. Screening: Romero. Learn about Archbishop Oscar Romero and his condemnation of the El Salvadorian government and military during the Cold War proxy wars in Latin America.

Oct 22-24th: MU Homecoming

Oct 23rd:Peace Studies Homecoming Reception in the Peace Studies Lounge, Time: TBA

Peace Studies Plaque Dedication to Archbishop Oscar Romero. Peace Garden, Time: TBA

Oct 25th: Kenapoc @ 9pm. Topic: Mia Miller from Education for Conflict Resolution (ECR) will join us in a discussion on conflict resolution and mediation in N. Manchester. We will also learn programming of ECR and how MU students can be involved.

Oct 28th: Peace House Movie @ 10pm. Screening: Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Celebrate Elections by enjoying a classic in American cinema.
