Upon graduating, most accounting students from Manchester pursue career opportunities in the field of public accounting. (To learn more about majoring in accounting at Manchester, click here.)
In addition, the Department offers outstanding opportunities in finance, management, marketing, general business, and its newest offering—sales. These majors provide students with numerous career options, as demonstrated by the wide range of positions that Manchester business students have accepted in recent years. Examples include marketing coordinator, human resource generalist, product manager, commercial credit analyst, marketing research assistant, inventory manager, and inside sales representative, to name a few. In addition, a number of students who graduate with a major in this department become attorneys, joining some of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the state of Indiana.
The Department is especially excited about the job opportunities that are expected to be available for graduates of the new sales program. This major will serve Manchester students well regardless of the industries they choose to work in because the sales function touches every organization, large and small, for-profit and not-for-profit, and demand for sales professionals is strong and is expected to grow.
In the Department of Accounting and Business at Manchester University, the academic programs are rigorous, the workload is heavy, and the expectations are high. The potential rewards, however, are great.
