Band at MC
The Manchester College Symphonic Band is comprised of students from across all academic areas on campus. Student musicians who perform with MCSB have a wide variety of experiences and backgrounds. This unique aspect allows the ensemble to continually broaden the scope of its traditional repertoire, in addition to gaining an understanding of current wind band literature trends.
Auditions for the MCSB take place at the beginning of each semester. A typical audition consists of scales and sight-reading. If a student wishes to perform a prepared piece, he/she may do so at any time during the audition. A brief question and answer time is also available to respond to any inquiries you may have about the program.
Scholarships are also available for MCSB particpants. All scholarship auditions must be completed by March 1 of the previous academic year. Our AUDITION GUIDELINES page has more information about the scholarship audition procedure.
