Clinical Hours and Travel Policies
Clinical Hour Policy
Athletic training students may be engaged in clinical experiences for no more than an average of 20 hours per week. Some weeks may require the student to be involved more than 20 hours per week, others less than 20 hours per week. The average across each semester must be 20 hours per week. The athletic training students with each ACI will be responsible for turning in time logs to the assigned ACI, and submit to the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education who will monitor the time for each student.
The MATEP at Manchester University follows all standards set by the CAATE and DOES NOT allow any travel of athletic training students without an approved clinical instructor for visual and auditory supervision. When supervision by an ACI is present students will be given the ability to volunteer to travel but will under no circumstances be required to travel to any event while at Manchester University. It is also a policy that no student grades will be diminished if a student does not travel to events while at Manchester University.
**The Manchester University Master of Athletic Training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
