2.1.10 - BISHOP DULLAGHAN FOOTBALL CAMPS RETURN TO MANCHESTER COLLEGE
Head coach Shannon Griffith has announced the return of the Bishop Dullaghan High School Team Camps from June 18-21, and a Down and Dirty Lineman Camp on June14-16. Camps are open to grades 9-12. The Bishop Dullaghan camps enter their 36th year, and had a total of 2,400 campers attend last year's sessions and continue to build championship caliber players each and every year. 12.15.09 - ESTEPP NAMED TO D3FOOTBALL.COM ALL-REGION TEAM
Manchester College junior and Napanee, Ind. native Chase Estepp was named to the d3football.com's All-Region Third Team for the second straight year. Estepp, a three-year starter for the Spartan offensive line recently was named First Team All-Conference for the HCAC and helped Manchester to their second straight 5-5 season.

SEVEN SPARTANS EARN FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS, CECIL NAMED MVP FOR SPECIAL TEAMS

Seven Spartan football players received First Team All-Conference awards following the 2009 season were Manchester finished 5-5 overall, 5-2 in the HCAC, tying Franklin for second place in the final standings. Leading the way was senior Chris Cecil, who was named the HCAC Most Valuable Player for Special Teams. Cecil returned a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown for the Spartans this season.  The senior totaled 439 yards and averaged 20.0 yards per kickoff return this season, highlighted by an 89 yard return for a score against Anderson.  He added a league-best 14.7 yards per punt return this fall, including an 88 yard return for a touchdown against Mount St. Joseph. Joining him on the All-Conference team were Brandon Wells at running back, Dante Dinkins at tight end, Chase Estepp at offensive line, Robbie McKerr at offensive line, Jermiah Jones at defensive back and Mike DePoy at linebacker.

Wells capped off his senior year setting a school record with 33 touchdowns and points with 291. He ranks second all-time in career rushing with 2,495 yards. He finished the 2009 season with six rushing and three receiving touchdowns and is a two-time First Team All-Conference player and was named honorable mention in 2008. Dinkins had six catches for 60 yards and a touchdown for MC. Estepp was named to his second consecutive All-Conference team and has been a three year starter for Manchester’s offensive line. He was also named to d3football.com’s All-Region third team in 2008, while fellow offensive lineman Robbie McKerr joins him on the All-Conference  team.

Jermiah Jones set a school record with 13 interceptions in a career, and had six for the 2009 season, including one for a 42-yard touchdown return. He had 43 tackles for the season. DePoy is a four-time All-Conference selection, three times being selected to the All-Conference team and once as a second team pick.

Second Team All-Conference awards went to senior linebackers Josh Kapla, Mark Sudhoff and Beau Fulk, as well as sophomore defensive back Brecken Kennedy. Ryan McKee was named honorable mention.

Under the direction of sixth-year coach Shannon Griffith and his staff, Spartan football is being thoroughly revitalized. Coach Griffith brings 15 years of college coaching experience at NCAA Division I and II schools. An Indiana All-State quarterback at Fort Wayne's Northrop High School, Griffith continued his football career at Ball State, where he helped lead the Cardinals to a Mid-American Conference Championship and a spot in the California Raisin Bowl.
  • Manchester returns three First Team All-Conference players in Brandon Wells, Jermiah Jones and Mike DePoy
  • Second Team All-Conference honors went to Sam Kent, Beau Bradtmiller, Jared Yoder and Spencer Fulk.
  • Coach Griffith has brought in four of the largest recruiting classes in the program’s history.
