The 2007 season was an exciting year with several record-tying and record-breaking performances. The team tied the Manchester record of wins (12) and shutouts (8) in a single season. After losing the opening game of Heartland Conference play, the Spartans found themselves playing for a share of the conference championship in the final game versus Transylvania. The team beat Rose-Hulman in the semi-finals on penalty kicks following overtime, but then lost to Transy 1-2 in the championship game to end the 2007 season.
The Spartans graduate six seniors from this year’s team but will still return a strong nucleus for 2008. Defender Brian Woods, midfielder Chris Rowe, and forwards Brian Huss and Parker Swanson were named to the HCAC All-Conference team. Defender Tom Garrett and forward Elie Francois were named to the Second Team All-Conference. Coach David Good shared HCAC Coach of the Year honors with the coaches from Rose-Hulman and Transylvania.
