5.11.12 - SMALL GROUP COMPETES AT NORTH CENTRAL DR. KEELER INVITATIONAL
A handful of Spartans traveled to North Central College to compete at the Dr. Keeler Invitational on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday night seniors Josh Kunkel and Alec Womboldt ran their last races for the black and gold. Kunkel came home nineteenth in the men's 10,000 meter run while Womboldt finished fifty fifth in the men's 5,000 meter run.

On Saturday freshman Alex Gardner finished sixth in the men's triple jump with a leap of forty five feet three and three quarters inch. Senior Kailey Honn finished fourth in the women's high jump with a jump of five feet four and one quarter inch. Full results here.

This week will mark the end of the regular season for the Spartans and a small group will travel to compete at the North Central Gregory Invitational.

5.4.12 - LOSHE MOVES UP NCAA LIST, HONN ON COMEBACK TRAIL
One week after the conference meet a small group of Spartans traveled to Indiana University to compete at the Billy Hayes Invitational.

Senior Casey Loshe cleared a new personal best in the high jump. Loshe jumped 1.68 meters (5 feet 6 inches); her jump is currently tied for eighth in NCAA Division III. 2010 NCAA National High Jump Champion Kailey Honn appears to be on the comeback trail. Honn cleared 1.63 meters (5 feet 4.25 inches) which is a seasons best. Juniors Zeth Baker and Josh Lofton competed in the 1500 meters and the shot put respectively. Baker finished in seventh with a personal best time of 3:58.30, while Lofton was sixteenth with a new personal best throw of 13.75 meters. Full results here.

A group of Spartans will compete this coming Thursday and Friday at North Central College.

4.28.12 - SPARTAN MEN AND WOMEN TAKE THIRD AT CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS, BAKER, ROWE AND MORELAND CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS
Manchester's men's and women's track and field teams placed third at the 2012 HCAC Track and Field Championships, hosted by Franklin College.

Hanover won the women's title and Rose-Hulman took the men's team trophy.

Manchester had two individual champions for the men as Zeth Baker won the 1500 meters with a time of 4:06.13, edging out Defiance's Joe Davis at the finish line by .35 seconds. Eric Moreland captured the individual title in the high jump, clearing 1.95 meters (6-04.75). Bridgette Rowe took first in the women's triple jump with a 10.64 meter (34-11.0) jump.

Other Spartans placing in the men's meet were Kyle Davis, fourth in the 400 meters, Ryan Marshall, fifth in the 400 meters, Zeth Baker fifth in the 800 meters, Michael Stocker sixth in the 1500 meters, and in the 5000 meter run, it was Curtis Nordmann third, Alec Womboldt fifth and Chris Lafree sixth. In the 10,000 meter Womboldt took second, while Calvin Cook, CHris Lafree and Cam Miser took fifth, sixth and seventh. In the 3000 meter steeplechase, Nordmann was third, followed by Stocker in fifth. The men's 4x400 relay team took a third place finish, and in the field events, Austin Finley was third in the high jump, Kurt Monix took third in the pole vault while Tony Smith placed fifth, Alex Gardner was second in the triple jump with Matt Layman placing fourth, and it was Moreland taking third and Zack Boger fourth in the javelin.

In the women's championships, Meredith Cors took fourth in the 400 meter dash, Emma Weiler was sixth in the 800 meters, Brianna Martinez was fourth in the 1500 meter run, and Karla Madrigal took fourth in the 5000 meter and third in the 10,000 meter runs. Jasmine espino-Muniz took sixth in the 100 meter hurdles, and Ashley Kopla took third in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Casey Loshe had a second place finish in the high jump, while Kailey HOnn took third, Bridgette Rowe fourth, and Rachel Weeber fifth in the high jump. Andrea Keller was third in the pole vault while Rowe took third in the long jump and Sam Baker took sixth in the shot put.

4.21.12 - COOK, MONIX, MORELAND, BAKER WIN AT HOME, JONES, LOSHE, MACIEJEWSKI WIN FOR WOMEN
In the last tune up before the HCAC Conference meet the Spartans competed at home for the second time this year.

The men won four events on the day. The day started with Eric Moreland winning the men's high jump with a leap of 2.02 meters which is a personal best and currently ranks him top ten in the nation. Zeth Baker then won the 1500 meter run with a conference leading time of 4:01.93. Kurt Monix continues to amaze as the three sport athlete won the men's pole vault with a vault of 4.63 meters. Calvin Cook turned in the last win of the day for the men's team in the 5,000 meter run. The junior from Plymouth, Indiana won with a time of 15:38.51.

Casey Loshe continued her strong season with a win in her last meet at home. Loshe won the women's high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters. Annaleza Jones won the women's 5,000 meter run with a time of 21:58.92, while Amy Maciejewski won the 10,000 meter run with a run of 45:50.53.

The teams will compete this coming Friday and Saturday at the HCAC Conference Championships hosted by Franklin College.

4.14.12 - FRANKLIN'S TRACK INVITATIONAL CANCELLED TO RAIN
Manchester's scheduled track and field event at Franklin College for the Indiana Division III Classic has been cancelled to rain, with no scheduled make-up date. Catch Manchester in action again this coming Saturday as they host the Spartan Classic starting at 11 a.m.

4.5.12 - MEN WIN, WOMEN FOURTH AT MANCHESTER 4-WAY MEET
The Manchester college men's and women's Track and Field teams stayed home to compete before the Easter Holiday. The men won the meet with 184 points, while the women finished fourth with 75 points.

The men won seven events on the afternoon. Zeth Baker won the 800 meter run with a time of 1:54.25; Jon Caffarelli won the 5,000 meter run in a time of 15:43.00; Eric Moreland won the high jump with a leap of 2.00 meters and then came back to win the javelin with a toss of 47.30 meters; Kurt Monix won the pole vault with a vault of 4.40 meters; Alex Gardner won the long jump and the triple jump leaping 6.28 meters and 13.58 meters respectively.

The women were led for the second week in a row by a quartet of high jumpers. Manchester went 1-4 in the event with Bridgette Rowe, Rachel Weeber, Kailey Honn, and Casey Loshe.

The Spartans will be back in action next Saturday at the NCAA Division III Indiana Championships hosted by Franklin College.

3.31.12 - MEN THIRD, WOMEN SEVENTH AT HANOVER COLLEGE INVITATIONAL
The Manchester College Track and Field teams opened their outdoor season today at Hanover College. The men finished third out of fourteen teams, while the women finished seventh out of fifteen.

The men were led by senior Eric Moreland. Moreland won the high jump with a leap of 2.01 meters. Moreland's jump currently ranks him fifth in the nation. Moreland's jump was also a Hanover College Invitational meet record. The men had a great day in the long sprints as well with both Ryan Marshall and Kyle Davis recording season's best. Marshall ran 50.68 in the 400 meters while Davis finished the same event in 51.20.

The women's team was led by a trio of women in the high jump. Manchester finished 1-2-3 in the women's high jump with Bridgette Rowe getting the win with a jump of 1.57 meters. Casey Loshe finished second with a jump of 1.52 meters and Rachel Weeber cleared 1.52 meters as well. Full results here.

Both teams will be in action at home this Thursday at the Manchester Quad. The start time is 3:00 pm.

3.3.12 - SPARTANS COMPETE AT LAST CHANCE MEETS
A handful of Spartans competed this past weekend at North Central College Last Chance Meet and at Stevens Point Last Chance Qualifier.

This past Friday the Spartans traveled to Naperville, IL to try and improve on their season's best marks. Michael Stocker ran 15:28.39 in the men's 5,000 meter run. Zeth Baker broke his own school record in the mile with a run of 4:17.83. Eric Moreland and Austin Finley both jumped six feet four and three quarters inches in the high jump. Alex Gardner broke his own school record in the 60m dash with a time of 7.17 seconds. On the women's side of things Casey Loshe and Kailey Honn both jumped five feet one inch in the high jump. Four Spartans continued their weekend by heading north to Stevens Point, Wisconsin to compete again on Saturday. Eric Moreland jumped six feet four inches in the high jump. Casey Loshe and Kailey Honn both jumped five feet one quarter inches. Zeth Baker continued his record breaking weekend in the mile with a run 4:16.75, his second school record in the event in less than twenty four hours. Full results here.

2.25.12 - MEN SECOND, WOMEN SEVENTH AT ANDERSON INDOOR FRED WILT INVITATIONAL

Manchester's track and field team completed their indoor regular season schedule on Saturday at the Anderson University Fred Wilt Invite, where the men finished second and the women took seventh overall.

On the women's side, Megan Hammel placed fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:06.56, Bridgette Rowe was second in the triple jump at 32-11.25 feet, Karla Madrigal took sixth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 20:20.73, Jessica Fauser took sixth in the 60 meter dash in 8.64, while Sandra Bellaire was sixth in the 60 meter hurdles in 10.77 seconds. Casey Loshe had a third place showing in the high jump at 5-00.25 feet, and MC had Andrea Keller take second place with a height of 9-02.25 and Megan Nibert fifth place with a height of 8-8.25 feet in the pole vault.

On the men's side, Eric Moreland won the high jump with a height of 6-7 while Josh Lofton took first in the weight throw at 50-06 feet. Austin Finley was second in the high jump with a height of 6-4 and Matt Layman finished fifth at 6-0. Zeth Baker took second in the mile run in 4:20.51, while Michael Stocker finished sixth in 4:24.61, Ryan Marshall was fifth in 52.22 in the 400 meter dash, Alex Gardner took third in the triple jump at 43-04.25 feet, Colton Mickalini was sixth overall in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:30, Calvin Cook took fifth place in the 5,000 meter run in 15:54 followed by Chris LaFree in sixth with a time of 16:01, while Tony Smith placed fifth in the pole vault at 12-07.5 feet. Kenny Green took sixth in the long jump at 20-02.25 feet, and Zack Boger took sixth in the weight throw at 42-9.75 feet.

2.18.12 - MEN THIRD, WOMEN FIFTH AT HCAC INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS, GARDNER NAMED FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Manchester's men's and women's indoor track and field teams took part in the HCAC Indoor Championships, hosted by Rose-Hulman on Saturday with the men finishing third and the women taking fifth place.

Top place winners for Manchester included Casey Loshe, who took third in the women's high jump with a height of 5-03.25 feet, while Bridgette Rowe took fourth in the high jump with a height of 5'01.25. Andrea Keller took second on the pole vault, clearing 9-08. Rowe took third in the triple jump with a distance of 33-04 and took fourth in the long jump with a distance of 15-08.25. Jessica Fauser placed sixth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.69 and the Spartan 4x400 team took fifth place.

On the men's side, top place winners for Manchester include conference champ in the high jump Eric Moreland, who cleared 6-04 to win the event. Teammate Austin Finley took second place with a height of 6-02. The Manchester Distance Medley team of Michael Stocker, Ryan Marshall, Kyle Davis and Zeth Baker took first in their event with a time of 10:30. Baker finished second in the men's mile run with a time of 4:21. Tony Smith took fourth place in the high jump with a height of 12-07.5, Alex Gardner took second in the triple jump with a distance of 44-07, third in the long jump with a distance of 21-06 and fifth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.18 seconds. Jon Caffarelli was fourth in the 5000 meter run in 15:32 while Alec Womboldt placed sixth in 15:47, Kenny Green took sixth in the triple jump at 40-00.75, and the men's 4x400 team took fourth overall. Alex Gardner was named Freshman of the Year.

Manchester will be in action Saturday, Feb. 25 as they travel to Anderson.

2.11.12 - SPARTAN MEN AND WOMEN COMPETE AT GRAND VALLEY STATE BIG MEET - BAKER BREAKS MILE RECORD
Both Spartan teams traveled to Allendale, Michigan to tune up for big HCAC Conference Indoor Championships.

The Spartan women were led by senior Casey Loshe. Loshe finished fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 5 feet 3.25 inches.

The Spartan men were led by first year Alex Gardner in the triple jump. Alex continues to improve and jumped 44 feet 9.75 inches which was good enough for second place. Eric Moreland finished third in the men's high jump with a leap of 6 feet 4.75 inches. Zeth Baker finished thirteenth in the mile but broke his own school record. Baker ran 4:21.19.

Both teams will be in action next Saturday at the HCAC Conference Indoor Championships hosted by Rose-Hulman.

2.4.11 - SPARTAN MEN WIN ANDERSON INVITATIONAL, WOMEN THIRD - LOSHE JUMPS INTO TOP TEN NATIONALLY
The Manchester College Spartans traveled to rival Anderson University to take part in the Raven Invitational. The men came out on top while the women finished third. Multiple school records were broken Saturday.

The Spartan men were led by junior Josh Lofton; Lofton won the men's shot put and the men's weight throw with tosses of 12.09 meters and 14.86 meters respectively. Fellow junior Zeth Baker was a double winner as well. Baker won the mile and came back to win the 800 meter run. Senior Alec Womboldt won the 5,000m run in his indoor debut. His time of 15:28.07 ranks him third all time at MC. Eric Moreland continued his winning ways by winning the men's high jump in 1.88 meters. Freshman Alex Gardner might have stolen the show by setting a school record in the 60 meter dash, 7.31 seconds, and winning the men's triple jump by over a meter with a leap of 13.66 meters.

The Spartan women had a equally impressive day in terms of the record books. Sohpmore Andrea Keller tied the school record in the women's pole vault with a vault of 3.05 meters. Senior Jessica Fauser broke her own school record in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.60 seconds. Senior Casey Loshe tied the school record in the high jump with a jump of 1.67 meters. Her jump currently ranks her in the top ten in the country in NCAA Division III. Bridgett Rowe comtined her strong freshman campaign by winning the triple jump with a leap of 13.66m.

Both Spartan teams will be in action next Saturday at Grand Valley State University.

1.20.11 - BAKER BREAKS RECORD IN MILE, ROWE WINS TRIPLE JUMP
Manchester College junior Zeth Baker won the men's mile Friday night at Rose Hulman with a school record time of 4:23.88. The record was held previously by Andy Williams. Eric Moreland won the high jump with a jump of six feet two and three quarters inches. Overall the men's team finsihed second behind host Rose Hulman.

Leading the lady Spartans was freshman Bridget Rowe. Rowe won the women's triple jump with a jump of thirty two feet-two and one half inches. Her jump sits second all time at MC. Overall the women finished third behind Hanover and host Rose Hulman.

5.28.11 - BREMER PLACES 11TH OVERALL AT NCAA DIII CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 800 METER RUN
Manchester College senior Jessi Bremer wrapped up her stellar four-year career at Manchester by finishing 11th overall at the NCAA Division III Women's Track and Field National Championships on Friday. Bremer ran the race in 2:13.42, just two hundredths of a second off her school record best time of 2:13.40. Keelie Finnel of Coe College won the event in 2:09.48. For complete results, click here.

5.22.11 - BREMER QUALIFIES FOR NATIONALS
Senior Jessi Bremer will be headed to the NCAA National Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan. Bremer, a native of Howe, Indiana, will be making her first trip to the outdoor championships. She is seeded 18th in the 800 meter run. She will race in the preliminaries on Friday. For more information follow this link.

5.19-20.11 - SPARTANS COMPETE AT NORTH CENTRAL LAST CHANCE MEET
A handful of Spartans competed this past Thursday and Friday at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

For the last time in their Manchester careers Seniors Megan Miller and Andy Williams raced the 5000 meter run. Megan won her heat with a time of 18:32.11 which earned her 16th overall. Andy ran 15:42.96.

Junior Casey Loshe competed in the high jump. She tied her personal best with a jump of 1.62 meters. Freshman Adam Creighbaum threw the javelin 46.80 meters which was good enough for 10th place.

Senior Jessi Bremer ran the 800 meters. She ran 2:13.57 and placed 5th overall.

5.12-13.11 - SMALL GROUP OF SPARTANS COMPETE AT NORTH CENTRAL DR. KEELER MEET

A group of Spartans competed this past Thusday and Friday at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

Seniors Megan Miller and Jen Beakas ran the 10000 meter run, finishing fourth and twelth respectively. Andy Williams ran the men's 10000 meter run were he finished thirtenth.

Running the 5000 meter run for the Spartans were Chris Lafree (15:43.15), Clayton Harlan (16:05.46), Cole Jackson (16:09.07), Michael Stocker (16:30.12), Katie Miller (20:18.16), Molly Wright (20:21.63), and Brittany Shuler (20:18.81).

In 800 meter run Jessi Bremer ran 2:14.94 and finished 8th. Zeth Baker ran 1:56.65 while Dan Nave ran 2:02.12 in his final race for MC.

The high jump saw Casey Loshe clear 1.57 meter while Eric Moreland jumped 1.90 meters. Tommy Riggs also competed in the men's shot put throwing 11.04 meters.

The Spartans will compete next Thursday and Friday at the North Central Last Chance Gregory Invite.


5.6.11 - BREMER RUNS PROVISIONAL AT BILLY HAYES

This past Friday night three Spartans made the trip to Bloomington to run at the Billy Hayes Invitational.

Senior Jessi Bremer, coming off of a conference win in the 800 meter run, lowered her own school record to 2:13.40. Her time was an NCAA DIII provisional mark and currently ranks her 16th in the country. Junior Casey Loshe finished 10th in the high jump with a clearance of 1.61 meters. Freshman Adam Creighbaum finished 6th in the men's javelin with a throw of 49.08 meters.

The men's and women's teams will send a larger squad up to Naperville this coming Thursday and Friday to compete at North Central College.

4.30.11 - MEN THIRD, WOMEN FOURTH AT HCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The men’s and women’s team wrapped up the regular season this past weekend at the conference championships at Hanover College. The men finished 3rd while the women finished 4th overall.

The women’s team finished fourth overall at this weekends Heartland Collegiate Athletics Conference track meet. The women had two conference champions, Emily Ballinger in the pole vault and Jessi Bremer in the 800 meter run. Bremer also tied the conference record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:16.47 and she won by over 5 seconds. Bremer was also second in the 1500 meter run and she ran on the second place 4x400 meter relay. Earning All-Conference Honorable Mention was Megan Miller. In the last conference meet of her collegiate career Megan anchored the distance team, she was second in the 10000 meter run, third in the 1500 meter run, and then second in the 5000 meter run. Megan’s time of 4:50.10 in the 1500 meter run was a new personal best. The women’s team also earned points from the following people. Jordan Redding was seventh in the 100 meter dash, sixth in the long jump and eighth in the triple jump. Katie Miller was fifth in the 800 meter run, fifth in the 1500 meter run, and then tenth in the 5000 meter run. Freshman Brittany Shuler ran a personal best in the preliminaries of the 800 meter run on Friday and then came back Saturday to get eighth in the finals. Jen Beakas had a great double this weekend placing third in the 10000 meter run and then coming back to get sixth in the 5000 meter run. Molly Wright and Ashley Kopla also ran the 10000 finishing in fifth and seventh respectively. Jasmine Espino-Muniz finished seventh in the 100 meter hurdles despite battling knee problems. Katherine Pea and Annaleza Jones ran the 3000 meter steeplechase finish fifth and seventh overall. The Spartan 4x100 meter relay finished fifth while the 4x400 meter relay finished second. Casey Loshe and Emma Weiler contested the high jump and finished third and sixth. Freshman Andrea Keller had a good day in the pole vault to finish fourth. Courtney Hall was eighth in the shot put.

The men’s team finished third overall and was lead by two individual winners. Winning the men’s high jump was Eric Moreland. Moreland also finished fifth in the javelin. Zeth Baker won the 800 meter run to earn all conference honors. Scoring for the men’s team were the following. Ryan Marshall was fifth in the 400 meter dash with a new personal best of 50.20. Ryan came back to anchor the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams that finished seventh and fourth. Chris Lafree led three scorers in the 5000 meter run with a fifth place finish. Michael Stocker was seventh while Cole Jackson was eighth. Jackson ran the previous day in the 3000 meter steeplechase were he finished sixth. Andy Williams was second the 10000 meter run while his teammates Alec Womboldt and Jon Caffarellli finished in fourth and sixth. Matt Layman was seventh in the 110 meter hurdles and tied for fourth in the high jump. Seth Reinoelh was sixth in the finals of the 400 meter hurdles. TJ Pelka finished eighth in the pole vault. Kenneth Green jumped 6.19 meters in the long jump which was good enough for fourth overall. Thomas Riggs was sixth in the shot put. Adam Creighbaum led a trio of finishers in the javelin throw. Creighbaum finished 3rd, Moreland was fifth, and Zach Boger was eighth.

Both teams will be sending a small number of athletes to Indiana University this Friday to compete at the Billy Hayes Invitational.

4.21.11 – MEN AND WOMEN COMPETE AT MANCHESTER 4-WAY.
The men and women spent their Thursday night on the track at MC tuning up for next week’s conference meet. Manchester hosted three other teams for a small 4 way meet.

The women’s team had some great performances leading into the conference meet. Jordan Redding was fourth in the 100 meter dash. She ran a season’s best time of 13.58 seconds. Katie Miller showed some range by moving down to the 400 meter dash, as she was fourth with a time of 1:04.01. Emily Ballinger continued on her winning ways in the pole vault. She followed up Saturday’s school record jump with another vault over ten feet, she jumped 3.05 meters. Jessi Bremer broke her own school record by running 2:15.88 in the 800 meter run.

The men’s team continued to improve and has its eyes set on next week’s conference meet. Performing well was John McCall who won the 100 meter dash in 11.58 seconds. George Rowlen won the 200 meter dash in a time of 23.44. Ryan Marshall won the 400 meter dash in a time of 51.41. Senior AJ Herbel, in his last home meet, won his first collegiate race ever by winning the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:14.12. Freshman Jon Caffarelli just missed the school record in the 3000 meter run, his time of 9:10.88 was just two tenths off.

Manchester also won the 4x100 meter relay. Eric Moreland won the men’s high jump with a jump of 1.86 meters. Tony Smith was second in the pole vault with a jump of 3.97 meters. Kenny Green jumped a new personal best in both the long and the triple jumps. He won the long jump in 6.27 meters. Freshman Adam Creighbaum won the javelin thrown in a new season’s best of 51.78 meters.

Both the men’s and women’s teams will travel to Hanover next Friday and Saturday for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference meet.

4.16.11 – WOMEN SECOND, MEN FOURTH AT 2011 SPARTAN CLASSIC

Members of the track and field teams braved the elements one more weekend. After tough weather last week both teams were met with worse conditions for their first of two home meets in the next week. Despite the bad weather, both teams had outstanding performances.

Coming off of being too sick a week ago to race at Little State, senior Megan Miller showed she is almost back to 100%. She won the 1500 meter run going away with a time of 4:56.60. Megan was just one senior that had a great day at home. Fellow senior Jessi Bremer came down in distance to win the 400 meter dash in 1:00.76. Making most of one of the last opportunities to vault at home, senior Emily Ballinger broke the school record in the pole vault. She jumped 3.10 meters or 10 feet 2 inches. Oddly enough Emily’s uncle Steve Ballinger has the men’s pole vault record at MC also.

The men’s team was led by senior Cole Jackson. Jackson won the 5000 meter run with a personal best time of 15:42.75. He was followed by his teammate Michael Stocker. Stocker also ran a personal best time of 15:49.69 which was good enough for third place. Sophomore Ryan Marshall ran a collegiate best time in the 400 meter dash, his time of 50.86 earned him second place. Junior Eric Moreland and sohpomore Zach Boger also finished first and second in the javelin throw.

Both teams will be back in action this coming Thursday at home for the Spartan Quad meet which will start at 4 p.m.

4.9.11 - MEN 10TH, WOMEN 14TH AT INDIANA INTERCOLLEGIATE
Manchester's men's track and field team took 10th place overall while the women took 14th place at the 2011 Indiana Intercollegiate Meet, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.

On the women's side, Jessi Bremer led the way for Manchester with a third place finish in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2:16.05. Casey Loshey took sixth in the high jump with a jump of 5'1'' while Emily Ballinger also placed sixth in the pole vault with a height of 9' 11.25''. Katherine Pea placed eighth in the 3000 meter steeple chase with a time of 12:35.09

On the men's side, Andy Williams was the high place winner for MC, taking third place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:40.88. Chris LaFree placed fourth in 15:58.27. Adam Creighbaum took fifth in the javelin with a throw of 166' 9'', while Eric Moreland placed eighth with a throw of 154' 4''. Zeth Baker took eighth in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.91, and Matt Layman placed eighth in the high jump, clearing 6' 1.25''.

The track and field teams return to action Saturday at home for the annual Manchester Invitational, starting at 11 a.m.

4.2.11 – Men’s and women’s teams battle weather and tough competition at Depauw Invite.

The track teams got off the bus this past Saturday with the sun shining, but unfortunately the wind was blowing and would continue to be a problem all day. But despite these less than ideal conditions, the teams competed well and prepared themselves for the upcoming Little State Championships next week.

The women’s team was led by senior Jessi Bremer. Bremer added the outdoor school record in the 800 meter run to go along with her indoor record. Bremer won the women’s 800m run with a time of 2:18.20. Joining Bremer in the 800m run was Katie Miller. Miller ran a season’s best of 2:31.87.

The men’s team was led sophomore Ryan Marshall. Marshall placed ninth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.53 and then anchored the seventh place 4x400 meter relay. Freshman Adam Creighbaum, competing in the javelin throw for the first time, finished second with a toss of 157 feet 7 inches.

Also competing this week was a group of 10,000 meter runners on Friday night at Washington University in St. Louis. Fifth year senior Andy Williams finished fourth with a time of 31:50.24, a personal best by over 30 seconds. Running her first 10k ever was senior Megan Miller and her time of 38:33.27 placed her second overall.

The team competes next Friday and Saturday at the Indiana Little State Championships at Indiana Wesleyan University.

3.26.11 - TEAM OPENS OUTDOOR SEASON AT HANOVER INVITE

On the second weekend of spring break, a small group of athletes opened the outdoor season at Hanover.

Despite the cold weather there were good season opening performances. Winning his 10,000 meter debut was Ben Houston. His time of 35:34.59 won by over two minutes. Andy Williams made his 2011 debut in the 5,000m run. Andy finished third in a time of 15:40.88. Anthony Pekla braved the cold in the pole vault and was rewarded with a lifetime best of 10 feet 11 3/4 inch vault.

Jessi Bremer opened the outdoor season with a win in the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:49.69. Opening well also was Brittany Shuler; her time of 2:42.11 in the 800 meter run is a lifetime best. Jen Beakas set an outdoor best in the 5,000m run with a time of 19:30.26. Annaleza Jones ran a lifetime best in the 3,000m steeplecase with a time of 13:20.71.

Both teams will travel this coming weekend to Depauw University.

3.11.11 - BREMER FINISHES 13TH AT NCAA INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Senior Jessi Bremer finished 13th overall at the 2011 NCAA Division III Track and Field Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday. Bremer ran a time of 2:18.23 in the second heat of the 800 meter dash. The 800 meters had 11 runners better the track record, highlighted by Meryl Wimberley of The College of New Jersey, who shaved four seconds off the track record with a time of 2:12.28.

3.7.11 - JESSI BREMER HEADED TO NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Jessi Bremer will compete this Friday at the NCAA National Championships. The field was announced late Sunday night. Bremer, a Howe, Indiana native, will contest the 800 meter run Friday night at Capital University. She is currently seeded 11th. This is Bremer's first trip to the national championships.

3.5.11 – SMALL GROUP TRAVELS TO UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT STEVENS POINT – JESSI BREMER PROVISIONALLY QUALIFIES FOR NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP

Saturday a small group of Spartans traveled to Wisconsin to compete at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. The day featured a provisional qualifying run by senior Jessi Bremer. She broke her own school record by just under two seconds; her time of 2:15.27 currently ranks her 16th in the country for NCAA DIII.

Both the men’s and women’s team prove they are on an upward trend with season best performances from Megan Miller and Jen Beakas in the 5000 meter run. They ran 18:43.96 and 19:10.58 respectively. They men’s team had a season best by Andree Lee in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.75 seconds.

The NCAA DIII National Championship field will be announced by 8:00 P.M. on Sunday night and will be hosted by Capital University in Columbus Ohio.

2.26.10 – INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD TEAMS COMPETE AT FRED WILT MEMORIAL INVITE HOSTED BY ANDERSON UNIVERSITY

For the second week in a row the men’s and women’s team traveled to Anderson University to race at the Fred Wilt Memorial Invitational. The men’s team finished in sixth place while the women’s team finished third.

Improving on their conference meet last weekend the men’s team got strong performances from Kenny Green in the triple jump (41-1 ½). Bettering his lifetime best in the shot put was sophomore Josh Lofton (40-1 ¼). The Spartans distance team was paced by freshman Curtis Nordmann in the mile (4:39.60) and fellow freshman Chris Lafree in the 5000 meter run (15:58.27).

The women’s team continued its upward trend with wins this weekend by Casey Loshe in the high jump (5-1 ¾), Jessi Bremer in the 800 meter run (2:18.65) and Megan Miller in the mile (5:18.38). Improving on her lifetime best in the mile was Jen Beakas. The defending outdoor HCAC 10000 meter champion turned in a mile in 5:33.41, which was more than 6 seconds faster than her previous lifetime best. Getting back on track after a slow start to the year was junior Jessica Fauser in the 55 meter dash. She placed fifth with a time of 8.17 seconds.

A small group of Spartans will travel to University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point this coming Saturday to take part in their last chance qualifier.

2.19.11 - MEN AND WOMEN INDOOR TRACK TEAMS COMPETE AT INAUGURAL HCAC INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Manchester's indoor track and field teams traveled to Anderson University this past Saturday to compete in the inaugural HCAC Indoor Championship meet. The women's team tied for fourth overall while the men's team finished seventh.

The women's team was led by All-Conference performer Jessi Bremer. Jessi was second in the mile with a school record time of 5:07.84, came back a few hours later to win the 800 meter run with a time of 2:21.45, and then finished the meet by anchoring the sixth place 4x400 meter relay team. The women's team also picked up points in the high jump from Casey Loshe whose jump of 5’-3” was good enough for second place. Seniors Emily Ballinger and Megan Miller each earned third place in their respective events. Emily earned hers in the pole vault (9’-8”) while Megan earned two third places in both the 5,000 meter run (19:19.00) and mile (5:33.42).

The men's team picked up scoring performances from Eric Moreland in the high jump who placed fourth with a jump of 6’-1 1/2”. Freshman Chris Lafree finished eighth in the mile running 4:32.88. Andree Lee also picked up an eighth place finish in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.80 seconds while Zeth Baker finished sixth in the 800 meter run in 2:00.91. Ryan Marshall and Calvin Cook finished seventh and fifth respectively. Marshall's time in the 400 meter dash was 52.69 and Cook's time in the 5,000m run was 15:54.94.

The track and field teams will be back in action next Saturday at Anderson University in the Fred Wilt Invitational.

2.12.11 - MEN AND WOMEN TRACK TEAMS PLACE THIRD AT TRINE INVITATIONAL

Manchester's indoor track and field team traveled to Trine University on Saturday to participate in the Trine Invitational. Both teams finished third out of five teams.

The men's team picked up first place finishes from Ryan Marshall in the 400 meter dash (52.29), Clayton Harlan in the 3000 meter run (9:33.17), Eric Moreland in the high jump (6-3 1/2), and the distance medley relay team of Chris Lafree, Zeth Baker, Calvin Cook, and Cole Jackson. Second place finishes went to Chris Lafree in the mile run (4:44.32) and Cameron Miser in the 3000m run (9:35.45). Andree Lee and Alec Womboldt earned third place finsihs in the 200 meter dash (23.66) and the 3000 meter run (9:36.98) respectively.

The women's team earned first place finishes from Jasmine Espino-Muniz in the 60 meter hurdles (10.26), Casey Loshe in the high jump (5-3), Jordan Redding in the triple jump (31-1), and the distance medley relay team of Jen Beakas, Megan Hammel, Katie Miller, and Molly Wright. Second place finishes went to Emily Ballinger in the pole vault (9-8) and Megan Miller in the mile run (5:27.87). Andrea Keller place third in the pole vault (9-2 1/4); while Jordan Redding followed up her triple jump win with a third place finish in the long jump.

Manchester travels to Anderson University on February 20th to take part in the first ever Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Meet.

2.5.11 - MEN AND WOMEN TRACK TEAMS PLACE SECOND AT ANDERSON INVITATIONAL
Manchester's indoor track and field teams took part in the Anderson Invitational on Saturday, with both teams finishing second out of seven participating schools.

On the women's side, first place finishes went to Courtney Hall in the weight throw (39-2 1/4"), Emily Ballinger in the pole vault (9-0 1/4"), Casey Loshe in the high jump (5-1 3/4'), Jessi Bremer in the mile run (5:10), Liz Curtis in the 400 meter dash (1:04) and the women's 4x400 team consisting of Liz Curtis, Megan Hammel, Meredith Cors and Jessi Bremer. Second place finishes went to Megan Miller in the 5000 meters (19:29), while Jordan Redding finished third in the long jump (14-9 1/4"). Fourth place finishes went to Katie Miller in the 400 meters (1:06), Jasmine Espino-Muniz in the 55 meter hurdles (9.9), Jordan Redding in the triple jump (29-5 1/4"), Andrea Keller in the pole vault (8-6 1/4"), and Cori Timmons in the weight throw (35-9").

In the men's division, first place finishes went to Eric Moreland in the high jump (5-8"), while Kenny Green took second in the triple jump (39-8") and long jump (20-2 1/2"). Other second place finishes went to Ryan Marshall in the 400 (53.49), Andre Lee in the 55 meter hurdles (6.77), Calvin Cook in the 5000 meters (15:54) and the Spartan 4x400 team. Third place finishes went to George Rowland in the 400 (54.85), Kyle Davis in the 800 (2:07) Matt Layman in the high jump (5-8") and Tony Smith in the pole vault (11-5 3/4").

Manchester next takes the track Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Trine Invite.

1.21.11 - SPARTAN MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD TEAMS OPEN SEASON WITH STRONG PERFORMANCES

Manchester College Track and Field teams opened their seasons at the Rose Hulman Friday Night Invitational. The Lady Spartans were lead by strong performances by seniors Jessica Bremer, Jen Beakas, and Courtney Hall. Bremer won the 800m run with a school record time of 2:17.94. She shattered the old record of 2:23.14 held by Steph Phillips. Jen Beakas had a strong run in the 3,000m, placing second with a time of 11:32.28. Courtney Hall won the weight throw with a toss of 11.79m (38-8.25). Courtney’s throw was good enough for 10th on the Women’s Indoor Top Ten List. Sophomore Lizzy Curtis had a strong opener also, placing second in the 200m with a time of 28.61. Sophomore Meredith Cors opened well, winning the mile in a time of 6:02.84. The men’s team was lead by strong showings from sophomores Ryan Marshall, Calvin Cook, and Zeth Baker. Marshall placed 4th in the men’s 400m with a time of 53.70, almost two seconds faster than he ran at this meet a year ago. Cook rolled to the victory in the men’s 3,000m run. His time of 9:13.32 puts him 3rd all time indoors at Manchester. Baker ran to a runner up finish in the men’s 800m. Baker ran 1:59.85, which was places him 3rd all time indoors at MC. 6.3.10 - SPARTAN MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD/CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS COMBINE FOR A SEVENTH PLACE NATIONAL FINISH
The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awards one men's institution with the Al Carius Division III Men's Program of the Year Award. This year's award went o North Central College in Naperville, Ill. based on their combined finishes at the NCAA Championships meet in cross country and both indoor and outdoor track and field.

All three teams represented Manchester College at the NCAA Championships this year. Cross country finished 26th in the country, led by two-time conference MVP Andy Williams, while John Kimmel's second place finish at both indoor and outdoor, along with Korey Bucher's eighth place finish in the 400 meter dash placed MC 27th and 26th in indoor and outdoor, respectively.

5.29.10 - HONN BECOMES MC'S SIXTH NATIONAL CHAMPION IN HIGH JUMP, KIMMEL PLACES SECOND AND BUCHER EIGHTH AT NCAA NATIONAL MEET
Manchester College junior Kailey Honn became the sixth National Champion for Manchester, winning the women's high jump event at the 2010 NCAA Division III National Outdoor Championships.

Honn, a Westfield, Ind., native broke her own school record with a height of 1.78 meters (5'-8"), defeating conference rival Elizabeth Evans of Rose-Hulman by one inch. Defending national champion John Kimmel took second in the high jump, falling to Monmouth's Tyler Hannam by judges decision, as both cleared 2.12 meters (6-11 1/2). Korey Bucher took eighth in the men's 400 meter dash, finishing the race in 48.35 seconds.

Honn, Kimmel and Bucher earn All-American honors, as Kimmel and Bucher were All-Americans last season and Honn earns her first All-American honor this year. She joins Brenda Ramsey in women's track and field and cross country, Darrell Carr in wrestling, David Glassburn in track and field and Amy Petersime in track and field.

5.28.10 - BUCHER ADVANCES TO SATURDAY'S 400 METER FINALS, KIMMEL AND HONN TO COMPETE IN HIGH JUMP
Manchester College senior Korey Bucher placed the fourth best time in the 400 meter dash on Friday to qualify for finals in that event at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Baldwin-Wallace.

Bucher posted a time of 47.87, with the fastest recorded time being 47.12 by Luke Reschke of Monmouth . Bucher will race at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday. High jump action starts at 2:30 p.m. for Kimmel and Honn. Keep up to date with all action here.

5.24.10 - BUCHER, KIMMEL AND HONN TO COMPETE AT NCAA DIII OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Manchester College will have three track and field student-athletes compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend. John Kimmel, the defending national champion in the high jump will look to defend his title, while Kailey Honn will compete in the women's high jump and Korey Bucher returns to the NCAA Championships in the 400 meter dash. All three represented Manchester at the national meet last year.

Kimmel, a Fort Wayne, Indiana native shares the best recorded height in the nation at 2.11 meters (6-11) heading into the championships. Bucher, a Plymouth, Indiana native, will compete in the men's 400 meter dash, and has the 10th best time in the country at 48.00 after competing in last week's Last Chance Meet at North Central. Honn, a Westfield, Indiana native has the third best height going into competition at 1.71 meters (5-7 1/4).

5.14.10 - BUCHER PROVISIONALLY QUALIFIES FOR NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP, MC 4X100 SETS NEW SCHOOL RECORD

Manchester senior Korey Bucher provisionally qualified for the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships on Friday, as he finished the 400 meter dash in 48.05 seconds. His time ranks him in fifth in the nation with one more week of qualifying. He looks to join John Kimmel in the men's high jump and Kailey Honn in the women's high jump at nationals. The Spartan 4x100 team of Kimmel, Bucher, Jermiah Jones and Andre Lee set a new school record in the men's 4x100 with a time of 42.88.

Manchester returns to North Central for the last chance meet next Friday and Saturday before the Nationals.


5.1.10 - MC MEN SECOND, WOMEN THIRD AT HCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS AS EIGHT WIN EVENTS
Manchester's track and field team took part in the HCAC Track and Field Championships, hosted by Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, where the men finished second and the women took third.

Individual champions for Manchester were Lindsey Machamer in the shot put, Jen Beakas in the 10,000 meter run, Jessi Bremer in the 400 meter hurdles and Kailey Honn in the high jump.

For the men, Andy Williams took first in the 5,000 meters, Korey Bucher won the 400 meter dash, Kyle Pletcher won the 10,000 meters and John Kimmel won the high jump.

4.24.10 - KIMMEL BECOMES SECOND SPARTAN TO QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS IN HIGH JUMP
Manchester took part in the Taylor Invitational on Saturday, where the men finished fourth overall and the women placed fifth.

For the women, Kailey Honn won the high jump, while Jessi Bremer took second in the 400 meter hurdles. Third place went to Emily Ballinger in the pole vault and Lindsay Machamer in the shot put. Annaleza Jones took fourth in the 3000 meter steeplechase and Casey Loshe was fourth in the high jump.

Senior John Kimmel automatically qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships and set a new track record at Taylor with a height of 2.12 meters (6-11 1/2) as he won the high jump. Andy Williams took first in the 1500 meter run, Zach Bradley was first in the javelin and the Spartan 4x400 relay team also took first. Korey Bucher was second in the 400. Third place went to Andre Lee in the 100 meter dash and John Fagan in the pole vault.

Manchester prepares for this week's HCAC Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Mount St. Joseph.

4.17.10 - HONN QUALIFIES FOR NATIONALS AT SPARTAN CLASSIC
Manchester College junior Kailey Honn qualified for her second trip to the NCAA National Championships in the high jump as she hit the automatic qualifying mark of 5-7 at the Spartan Classic on Saturday.

Winners for MC women's team included Meredith Cors in the 1500, Tiffany Alva in the 5000, Jessi Bremer in the 400 meter hurdles, and Honn in the high jump. Second places went to Megan Miller in the 1500, Casey Loshe in the high jump and Emily Ballinger in the pole vault. Third place awards went to Jessica Fauser in the 100 meter hurdles and 200 meter dash, along with Jennifer Beakas in the 5000 meters.

On the men's side, winners for Manchester included Jermiah Jones in the 100 meters, Korey Bucher in the 400 meters, and John Kimmel in the high jump. Zach Bradley in the javelin, and Bucher in the 200 meters took second place, while Zeth Baker in the 800, Braden Nelson in the 5000 meters and Eric Moreland in the high jump and javelin took third in their events.

Manchester travels to Taylor on Saturday.

4.10.10 - MC WOMEN 11TH, MEN 14TH AT LITTLE STATE MEET
Manchester College's women's track and field team placed 11th overall, while the men took 14th at the 2010 Little State Meet hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.

Top place winners for the women were Megan Miller, who took 8th in the 5000 meters, Jennifer Beakas 8th in the 10,000 meters, Emily Ballinger tield for sixth in the pole vault, Casey Loshe took sixth in the high jump, Jessi Bremer fifth in the 400 meter hurdles and sixth in the 400 meter hurdles. Kailey Honn took first in the high jump with a height of 5-5.75, which ranks her in the top five nationally.

On the men's side, Cole Jackson took seventh in the 3000 meter steeplechase and Zach Bradley took fifth in the javelin. John Kimmel won the high jump with a height of 6-6.75.

Manchester returns to action Saturday at home as they host the annual Spartan Classic, starting at 11 a.m.

3.20.10 - SPARTAN WOMEN PLACE FIRST, MEN SECOND AT DEFIANCE INVITE
Manchester's track and field teams started their outdoor season on Saturday with the women placing first and the men second at the Defiance College Dick Small Invitational.

Winners for the women included Jasmyne Ahmad in the long jump, Liz Curtis in the 400 meter, Meredith Cors in the 800, Megan Hammel in the 1500 meter, Megan Miller in the 5,000 meter, Ashley Kopla in the 10,000 meters, Jessi Bremer in the 400 meter hurdles, Kailey Honn in the high jump, Lindsey Machamer in the shot put and the women's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. Second place finishes came from Ahmad in the 100 meter dash, Katherine Herrington in the 1,500 meter run, Tiffany Alva in the 5,000 meters, Jennifer Beakas in the 10,000 meters, Jess Fauser in the 100 meter hurdles, Madi Gregory in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and Casey Loshe in the high jump.

On the men's side, Korey Bucher took first place in the 400 meter, as did Dan Nave in the 800, Braden Nelson in the 1,500 and John Kimmel in both the high jump and long jump. Second place finishes went to Ryan Marshall in the 400, Andy Williams in the 1,500, Kyle Pletcher in the 10,000 meters, Cole Jackson in the 3,000 meter steeple chase, Zach Bradley in the long jump and Eric Moreland in the javelin.

Manchester returns to action April 3 at the Anderson Invitational.

3.13.10 - KIMMEL TAKES SECOND IN HIGH JUMP AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Manchester College senior John Kimmel finished second overall in the men's high jump at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by DePauw University on Saturday.

Kimmel, the defending outdoor high jump national champion tied Dillon Binkley of Illinois College with a height of 2.08m (6-9 3/4), but Binkley cleared his third mark of 2.05 meters on his first try while Kimmel needed his second attempt and decided the tie-breaker.

Kimmel was announced Thursday as the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches of America's (USTFCCCA) Great Lakes Regional Field Athlete of the Year after provisionally qualifying in every indoor meet this year also had just one defeat in the high jump all season heading into nationals. He becomes a two-time All-American for the Spartan track and field team with his second place finish.

The track and field outdoor season begins Saturday, March 20, at the Defiance College Invite.

3.12.10 - HONN PLACES 10th AT NCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Junior Kailey Honn took 10th place at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday. Honn's best mark of 1.61 meters (5' 3-1/4") put her in a three-way tie for 10th place amongst the field of 16 participants. This marks her second trip to the NCAA National Championships after qualifying for the Outdoors in 2009 where she placed 12th.

Defending outdoor national champion John Kimmel will compete in the men's high jump on Saturday.

3.6.10 - HONN JOINS KIMMEL AT NATIONALS AFTER QUALIFYING SATURDAY
Junior Kailey Honn will join John Kimmel at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday, hosted by DePauw University. Both student-athletes represented Manchester at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships last May in the high jump where Honn took 12th and Kimmel winning the national championship. Honn won the women's high jump with a height of 1.67 meters (5-5.75"), and broke her own school record by two inches.

Joining her at the NCAA Championships is John Kimmel, who qualified last week with his jump of 2.10 meters. Kimmel placed fourth overall at the Last Chance meet with a height of 2.00 meters.

2.27.10 - KIMMEL QUALFIES FOR NATIONALS, WOMEN 2ND AND MEN 4TH AT ANDERSON
Manchester College senior John Kimmel hit the automatic qualifying standard in the high jump on Saturday at the Anderson University Fred Wilt Invitational. Kimmel set a new meet record with a height of 2.10 meters (6' 10-3/4") and posted the best height in the nation this season. He qualified for his fourth trip to the NCAA Championships. Other highlights from the meet included Korey Bucher breaking his own record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.13 and Kailey Honn set a new school indoor record in the high jump with a height of 5' 3.75".

The women finished in second place overall, led by second place finishes from Megan Miller in the 5000, Meredith Cors in the 800 meter, Jessi Bremer in the 200 meter, Emily Ballinger in the pole vault and Kailey Honn in the high jump. Third place finishes came from Jasmyne Ahmad in the long jump.

The men finished in fourth place and along with Kimmel's win in the high jump, Manchester's Cole Jackson took first in the 3000 meter steeplechase, Korey Bucher in the 400 meter dash. Garrett Singer placed third in the 1000 meters.

Manchester returns to action Friday at the DePauw Qualifier Meet.

2.20.10 - MEN 5TH, WOMEN 6TH AT HOOSIER-BUCKEYE MEET
Manchester's men's track and field team placed fifth overall, while they women took sixth at the Hoosier-Buckeye Invite hosted by Rose-Hulman on Saturday.

Manchester had two individual winners in John Kimmel in the high jump and Andy Williams in the 5,000 meter run in the men's events. Other place winners for the men include Korey Bucher's second place in the 400 meter, Kyle Pletcher's second place in the 5,000 meter run, Kimmel fifth in the long jump, Calvin Cook sixth in the 5,000 meter run, Dan Nave sixth in the 800 and John Fagan seventh in the pole vault.

On the women's side, Jessi Bremer led the way with a second place finish in the 400 meter. Emily Ballinger took third in the pole vault, Meredith Cors was fourth in the 800 meter, Casey Loshe was fourth in the high jump, Megan Miller took fifth in the mile run and Lindsay Machamer was sixth in the shot put.

Manchester returns to action Saturday at Anderson.

2.3.10 - KIMMEL WINS HIGH JUMP AT TAYLOR INVITE
Senior John Kimmel won the high jump at Saturday's Indoor Invite hosted by Taylor University. Kimmel won the event with a height of 2.03 meters.

Other top place winners for Manchester included Jordan Redding, second in the women's long jump, John Fagan, who was fifth in the men's pole vault and Korey Bucher's sixth place finish in the men's 400 meter dash.

Jessi Bremer tied for sixth in the women's 400 meter dash, as did Casey Loshe in the women's high jump. Meredith Cors took seventh in the women's 1000 meter, while Dan Nave took eighth in the 1000 meter and Braden Nelson took eighth in the men's 3000 meter.

Manchester returns to action Feb. 20 at Rose-Hulman.

As a college athlete, Coach Brian Cashdollar was a four-year letter winner and two-time captain at Ball State University, scoring points in each of his conference meets. Now, in his ninth year of coaching at Manchester, he continues the success of a program that has produced 52 Academic All-Americans, 20 Athletic All-Americans and five national champions.

  • Junior Kailey Honn became Manchester's sixth national champion after winning the high jump at the 2010 NCAA National Track and Field Championships
  • In 2010, Manchester had four Athletic All-Americans. Korey Bucher in the outdoor 400m, Kailey Honn in the outdoor high jump, and John Kimmel in both the indoor and outdoor high jump. Both Bucher and Kimmel ended their careers at MC as multiple time All-Americans. Bucher is a two time All-American while Kimmel is a three time All-American and the 2009 national champion.
  • MC has had 52 HCAC event champions over the last ten years.
  • Under Head Coach Brian Cashdollar, 35 school records have been broken.
  • Coach Cashdollar was named HCAC Coach of the Year in 2002, 2004, and 2009.
