Amanda Dickman led the way with 11 kills. Stephanie Rion added seven kills, 12 digs and two blocks assists. Lauren Nash had 24 assis while Danielle Blevins had nine digs.
Manchester falls to 16-11 overall, 3-5 in the HCAC. They wrap up the regular season on Friday and Saturday as they travel to the Hope/Calvin Midwest Classic.

Manchester's volleyball team fell to Purdue North Central 3-1 on Wednesday. Game scores were 28-30, 25-14, 25-12, 26-24.
Amanda Dickman led MC with nine kills and four blocks while Christa Peden added eight kills and six digs. Rebecca Varnes had seven kills, with Danielle Blevins adding 11 digs defensively.
Manchester falls to 16-10 on the year, and wrap up conference play on Tuesday as they travel to Defiance for a 7:30 p.m. match.
10.18.08 - MANCHESTER SPLITS IN TRANSYLVANIA TRI-MEET
Manchester lost to Transylvania 3-1 in HCAC action, but posted a 3-1 win over Asbury in non-conference action Saturday.
In the Transy match, Manchester lost 25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-19. Christa Peden led MC with 17 kills and 18 digs. Stephanie Rion added 14 kills, 20 digs and three aces while Sheena Steely added 12 digs.
Set scores in the Asbury win were 25-17, 25-7, 25-27, 25-15. Peden again led with 14 kills and 12 digs. Rion added 13 kills and 17 digs, while Amanda Dickman tallied 12 kills. Steely recorded 19 digs and Lauren Nash added four aces. Manchester stands at 16-9 on the year, 3-4 in the HCAC. They travel to Purdue North Central on Wednesday.
10.15.08 - SPARTANS BLANK KALAMAZOO 3-0
Manchester's volleyball team posted their third straight win on Wednesday following a 3-0 win against Kalamazoo. Game scores were 25-19, 28-26, 25-20.
Stephanie Rion led MC with 12 kills and 20 digs. Amanda Dickman recorded nine kills and five blocks, Christa Peden added eight kills and four blocks and Kristi Staton added four kills. Lauren Nash had 28 assists in the win for MC.

10.14.08 - MANCHESTER RANKED IN NATIONAL STATISTIC CATEGORIES
Manchester College's volleyball team is currently ranked 10th in the nation in digs with a 19.8 per set average. Manchester's volleyball team improved to 3-3 on the year following a 3-0 win over Rose-Hulman on Sunday. Game scores were 25-16, 25-19, 25-16.
Stephanie Rion led the way with a 16 kills, 10 dig performance. Kristi Staton added nine kills while Amanda Dickman had eight. Danielle Blevins notched 13 digs, Tiffany Moore added 12 and Lauren Nash had 32 assists for MC.

Manchester's volleyball team posted a 3-0 win over Franklin on Thursday for their second HCAC win of the year. Game scores were 25-23, 25-17, 25-23.
Christa Peden led Manchester with 13 kills while Stephanie Rion added 10. Kristi Staton added seven kills and two blocks. Tiffany Moore recorded 13 digs, Rion added 12 digs and Danielle Blevins added 10. Lauren Nash had 34 assists for MC in the win.

Manchester's volleyball team fell to #21 in the nation Mount St. Joseph 3-1 in conference action Friday night. Game scores were 25-16, 29-27, 16-25, 25-20.
Christa Peden had 13 kills for Manchester while Stephanie Rion added 10. Danielle Blevins recorded 20 digs, Rion added 15 and Lauren Nash recorded 14 digs to go with her 23 assists.

9.27.08 - SPARTANS PICK UP PAIR OF WINS OVER EARLHAM AND OBERLIN
Manchester's volleyball team picked up two wins Saturday in a 3-2 win over Oberlin and a 3-0 win over Earlham.
In the Oberlin game, MC fell in game one 24-26 before taking game two 25-17. The Spartans fell in game three 21-25 before winning the next two sets 25-20 and 15-11. Amanda Dickman had 16 kills and eight blocks to pace MC. Stephanie Rion added 15 kills and 16 digs while Lauren Nash added 38 assists. Tiffany Moore added 34 digs in the win.

Manchester fell in the first set 19-25, rallied to win game two 25-14, then were edged out 25-23 in the third set. MC pulled out a 25-20 win in the fourth match and cruised to a win with a 15-6 win in the fifth set.

Aurora University Tournament. The Spartans opened up with a
2-0 record on Friday and won their third game of the tournament

25-21, 25-23). They fell to tournament winner St. Norbert 3-0
in the final game of the tournament (25-16, 26-16, 25-21).

Manchester posted four wins at the 2008 Kalamazoo Hornet
Invitational over the weekend to pick up the team tournament title.
Manchester opened up with a 3-2 win over Trine (17-25, 25-16, 14-25,
25-20, 15-10) and a 3-0 win over Ohio Wesleyan (25-14, 27-25,
25-20). On Saturday, Manchester posted a 3-0 win over
Kalamazoo (25-21, 25-23, 25-20) and Anderson (25-19, 25-21, 25-17).
Tiffany Moore and Amanda Dickman were named to the All-Tournament
team. Manchester moves to 4-0 on the year and takes part in
the Aurora Tournament next weekend.
8.24.08 - SPARTANS BEGIN 2008 SEASON FRIDAY AT KALAMAZOO
The Manchester College Volleyball Program is ready for another exciting season in 2008. After completing the best season in ten years and finishing 3rd in the HCAC, the future is bright for the Spartans.
The team returns eight players that saw significant playing time during the 2008 season. Among those are seniors Tiffany Moore, Stephanie Rion and Rebecca Varnes. Moore who made the transition to the libero position in 2007 will again lead the defensive floor for the Spartans. The co-captain who played in every game last year averaged 5.1 digs per game. Rion, another captain, brings her experience back to the outside position. She averaged 2.9 kills and 3.9 digs per game in an injury-plagued season. Varnes who saw time in both the middle and opposite positions brings her quiet persistence back to the floor.
2007 HCAC Freshman of the Year Lauren Nash returns to lead the offense of the Spartans. The setter finished the season with 1,277 assists. Christa Peden, a 2nd team All HCAC selection, returns to control the net. Peden averaged 3 kills and 1 block per game in 2007. Also returning are sophomores Danielle Blevins, Karla Conrad and Sheena Steely.
A strong core of freshman enter the 2008 season eager to contribute to the winning ways of the Spartans. The class brings strong academic and volleyball backgrounds to the program. The group brings high school conference titles, club volleyball team national experiences and numerous individual awards with them. Bringing height to the front line and competing for time on the offensive side of things for the Spartans will be Amanda chamberlin, Amanda Dickman, Kristi Staton and Whitney Piatt. Providing help in the setting and defensive sides of things is Sarah Lauinger.
The 2008 Spartans open the season August 29-30 at the Kalamazoo College Tournament in Michigan.

Manchester's volleyball team posted a 3-0 win over Purude North Central on Tuesday to wind down the regular season schedule. Game scores were 30-28, 33-31, 20-23. The win moves Manchester to 15-14 overall, their first winning season since 1997 under first year head coach Kendra Marlowe.
Amy Carnahan posted 13 kills, an ace and 13 digs, and Tiffany Moore added 18 digs and three service aces to the Spartans' win. Rebecca Varnes had four solo blocks and an assisted block

Stephanie Rion added eight kills and 24 digs, while Tasia Smith added eight kills. Christa Peden added three solo blocks and eight assisted blocks.

The senior showed her gratitude with a 15 kill, 32 dig performance. Stephanie Rion added 15 kills and 33 digs while Christa Peden led the team with 20 kills, a solo block and two block assists. Lauren Nash had 55 assists and Tiffany Moore added 28 digs for the Spartan defense.

10.11.07-MANCHESTER FALLS TO GRACE IN THREE SETS, TRAVELS TO TRI-STATE
ON SATURDAY
Manchester's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Grace on
Thursday, with game scores of 30-21, 30-22, 30-15. Christa Peden
led the Spartans with nine kills and three solo blocks. Amy
Carnahan added six kills and 23 digs with a solo block. Lauren
Nash added 26 assists and an ace for MC.
The Spartans drop to 12-8 on the year, and return to action Saturday in
a tri-meet with Tri-State and Adrian.
10.9.07-SPARTANS WIN NINTH OUT OF TEN GAMES FOLLOWING 3-0 WIN OVER
TAYLOR-FORT WAYNE
Manchester's volleyball team posted a 3-0 win over Taylor - Fort
Wayne on Tuesday to notch their ninth win in 10 tries. Game scores
were 30-27, 30-26 and 30-27.
Amy Carnahan led the way with 14 kills and 22 digs. Christa
Peden added 12 kills and five digs with one solo block and five block
assists. Lauren Nash added 37 assists, 20 digs and two solo blocks
for MC, while Tiffany Moore added 26 digs for the Spartans.
Manchester improves to 12-7 on the year, and returns to action
Thursday at home versus Grace.
10.5.07-MANCHESTER PICKS UP 3-0 WIN OVER TRANSY, REMAINS UNDEFEATED IN
CONFERENCE PLAY
Manchester College's women's volleyball picked up a 3-0 win over
Transylvania to remain undefeated in HCAC action. Manchester held
off to defeat Transy 33-31 in the first game, cruised by in game two
30-14, and capped off game three with a 30-25 win.;
Stephanie Rion led the way with 17 kills and 19 digs. Christa
Peden added 13 kills, five digs and 2.5 blocks. Amy Carnahan had
nine kills, 12 digs and three solo blocks for MC. Lauren Nash
paced the Spartans with 43 assists on the night.
Manchester improves to 11-7 overall, 4-0 in the HCAC and are in sole
possession of first place in the conference standings. Manchester
has four non-conference matches scheduled for next week, starting off
with a home match versusTaylor-Fort Wayne on Tuesday, Grace at home on
Thursday and going to Tri-State on Saturday in tri-meet action.
10.3.07-SPARTANS FALL TO GOSHEN 3-1
Manchester's seven-game win streak came to an end on Wednesday as
they fell to Goshen College 3-1. Manchester took game one 30-28,
but fell 30-14, 30-26 and 33-31 in games two through four.
Stephanie Rion and Amy Carnahan led the way with 11 kills each.
Carnahan added 13 digs, as did Tiffany Moore. Danielle Blevins had
20 digs, Christa Peden had four solo blocks and a block assist, and
Tasia Smith added three solo blocks for MC.
The volleyball team falls to 10-7 on the year, and looks to remain
undefeated in conference play Friday night as they host Transylvania,
just one of the many events scheduled for Homecoming weekend at
Manchester College.
9.28.07-MANCHESTER WINS SEVENTH STRAIGHT IN 3-0 WIN OVER ROSE-HULMAN
Manchester's volleyball team picked up its eighth straight win
Friday night as they picked up a 3-0 win over Rose-Hulman, winning by
scores of 30-21, 30-17, 30-22.
Stephanie Rion led Manchester with 17 kills and 17 digs, with a solo
block and two block assists. Amy Carnahan added 14 kills and 16
digs, while Tasia Smith added seven kills and two blocks. Christa
Peden had eight kills and two blocks and Lauren Nash added 36 assists
and 12 digs.
Manchester improves their record to 10-6 on the year, 3-0 in the HCAC.
They travel to Goshen on Tuesday then return home on Friday to play host
to Transylvania as part of MC's Homecoming weekend.
9.20.07-SPARTANS MAKE IT SIX STRAIGHT IN 3-1 WIN OVER FRANKLIN
Manchester's volleyball team picked up their sixth straight win on
Thursday following a 3-1 win over Franklin in HCAC action. Game
scores were 21-30, 30-19, 30-23, 32-30.
Amy Carnahan led MC with 24 kills and 35 digs. Stephanie Rion
added 15 kills and 34 digs, while Tasia Smith had 10 kills and two solo
blocks. Christa Peden added nine kills and a solo block.
Lauren Nash had 59 assists, three solo and one assisted block and
Tiffany Moore added 31 digs for the Spartans.
Manchester improves their record to 9-6 on the year, 2-0 in the HCAC.
They return to action next Friday at Rose-Hulman in conference action.
9.18.07-MANCHESTER DOWNS ANDERSON FOR FIRST CONFERENCE WIN OF THE SEASON
The Manchester College women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 win over
Anderson in league action Tuesday night. Manchester has won five
straight after picking up their conference opener victory in a 30-21, 31-29, 30-28 three game match over Anderson.
Stephanie Rion led MC with 15 kills and 16 digs. She added a
solo block and two assisted blocks for Manchester. Tasia Smith had
nine kills and two blocks.; Christa Peden added eight kills and two
blocks for the Spartans.
Manchester resumes conference action Thursday as they travel to
Franklin.
9.15.07-SPARTANS HOST AND WIN THE MC PIZZA HUT INVITE TOURNAMENT
Manchester College won all four games of their own Manchester
College Pizza Hut Invitational tournament over the weekend. The
Spartans opened with a 3-1 win over Huntington (30-26, 30-28, 24-30,
30-23). Stephanie Rion and Amy Carnahan had 13 kills apiece for
Manchester, while Christa Peden added 12 kills and three and a half
blocks.
Manchester posted a 3-1 score over Earlham to end action Friday night
(30-22, 30-27, 22-30, 30-21). Peden led the way with 17 kills
while Carnahan added 16. Lauren Nash had 52 assists and one and a
half blocks and Tiffany Moore recorded 19 digs.
MC opened up Saturday's competition with a 3-0 win over Calumet
College-St. Joseph (30-15, 30-23, 30-16). Carnahan added 10 kills
and 13 digs to lead MC. The Spartans closed out the day with a 3-1
win over Otterbein (27-30, 30-22, 30-18, 30-26). Carnahan had 19
kills while Rion added 16 kills and 4.5 blocks.; Nash had 45
assists and 11 digs and Peden had five blocks.
Manchester's Amy Carnahan was named as the Tournament MVP. She was
joined on the All-Tournament team by Manchester's Lauren Nash and
Christa Peden, Otterbein's Julie Brown, Huntington's Alyssa Schroeder,
Earlham's Lisa Vanderkolk and Calumet's Kate Delany.
Manchester stands at 7-6 on the year, and returns to action on Tuesday
as they host Anderson for a 7 p.m. conference match.
