The national Conflict Transformation Institute (CTI) is a collaborative workshop designed for college and university faculty and staff to develop conflict resolution skills as a community resource. Held each year at Manchester College, CTI is presented as part of the Lilly Theological Exploration of Vocation Grant, through the Fund for Theological Education Inc.

The goal of conflict transformation is not so much to remove or resolve conflict, but to transform it into improved understanding between affected parties, thus building a healthier campus community.

CTI begins with the exploration of the theological roots of nonviolent conflict resolution, and includes practical contemporary applications of conflict resolution skills.

The Institute engages participants in strategies that help transform conflict, and includes exercises for effective implementation of these strategies on the college campus.

“CTI is a great opportunity to connect with others from across the country.”

“I gained practical skills for dealing with conflict.”

“I am eager to take what I learned back to campus and to incorporate these skills into my personal life.”
