- Can students get a good job after they graduate?
- Yes, definitely. Manchester
graduates have many excellent opportunities, whether they pursue graduate school
or full-time work. Over the past five years, 96 percent of our graduates have

- Anything they want
to! Study in a specific major allows students to acquire the in-depth knowledge
they need for graduate school or their first job. The liberal arts education they
receive helps them develop the broader skills sought by employers in every profession.
Based on a survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers
(NACE), these attributes include: oral and written communication skills, teamwork
and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem solving skills, and leadership
skills. Career services staff and academic advisors assist students in finding

- The new Success Center combines a wide range of academic, career, and personal services. Need tutoring? Academic Support offers professional assistance. Want help with a writing project for any class? The Writing Center is at your service. Is it time to start thinking about your professional future? Career Services has experts to guide you through the entire job-searching experience. The Success Center is also home to the Honors Program for students who embrace the challenges and opportunities offered in elevated academic programs. Success also means a healthy body and mind, and Health Services and Counseling Services are here to ensure your physical and emotional well-being, so you can be your best in all aspects of life. - Is there anything to do on campus?
- There is always something
to do on campus. A mix of campus wide activities, athletic events, trips off campus,
theatre and movies, residential life programming, events held by clubs and organizations,

- How much does it cost to go to Manchester College?
- The cost of
tuition, fees, room, and board can be found here. The College offers generous financial aid and scholarships,
so most students pay much less than the “sticker price.” Financial
aid estimates are available for interested families.
- What kinds of financial aid are available?
- Manchester College
offers financial aid based on a student’s high school academic record and
the student’s family’s financial need. Merit-based aid is available
based on academic ability; special abilities and interest in service, languages,
the arts, and non-profit management; and leadership and academic ability for students
of color. Manchester also offers gift aid to members of the Church of the Brethren

- Does Manchester College give athletic scholarships?
- Manchester College
does not award athletic scholarships of any kind. As an NCAA Division III institution,
we are not allowed to give athletic scholarships. Also, we are committed philosophically

- How
are you able to recruit talented athletes without athletic scholarships?
- The financial aid
packages that Manchester awards to all students, including athletes, are very
generous. In addition, the level of athletic competition and quality of coaching
we offer to student athletes help us attract excellent athletes.
- Can students work on campus?
- A complete and up
to date set of job vacancies is posted on the Office
of Human Resources web pages. All prospective employees, including student employees, may apply for
vacant positions by completing an employment application online or by filling out a written application available at the Office of Human Resources.
- Is Manchester College religiously affiliated?
- Manchester College
is a college of the Church of the Brethren. It provides opportunities to explore,
develop, and nurture a living faith in an environment of respect for religious
diversity. The College maintains a valued relationship with the Church of the
Brethren, a Christian denomination recognized as an historic peace church. The
influence of this relationship is seen in many ways on campus: the first undergraduate peace
studies program in the United States; the granting of service scholarships;
the presence of the Manchester Campus Reconciliation Service, a peer mediation
program; voluntary weekly chapel services and numerous
Christian organizations; strong ministry programming, including spirituality
groups and Bible study groups; and representation of the denomination on the Board
of Trustees.

- The Church of the
Brethren is an Anabaptist denomination and one of three historic peace churches.
It holds no creed but the New Testament. The Brethren hold such values as community,
simplicity, justice, peace, service, and reconciliation. Guided by the scriptures
and the Spirit since their separation from the established church in 1708, Brethren
have sought to continue the work of Jesus – peacefully, simply, and together.
- Are
campus facilities handicapped accessible?
- What
accommodations are available to students with learning or physical
disabilities?
- Any student admitted
to the College who provides documentation of a physical or learning disability
can work with the director of Academic Support to arrange accommodations.
These may include things such as: use of a special quiet study lounge, air conditioning,
a note taker, extended time for exams, distraction-reduced test taking locations,
a reader or scribe, or special dietary planning. All students, regardless of disability
status, are able to work with a trained peer tutor for any course.

are students required to live on campus for the first three years?
- As a residential college,
Manchester believes that significant learning takes place through the living experience
and programming in its residence halls. The residence hall environment encourages
and supports the learning of life skills such as mutual respect, consideration
for others, living in community, and open communication with other students. It
also provides significant leadership opportunities for students in the halls.

- How
do I write a letter of recommendation for a student?
- Faculty or staff
can get information about writing a professional letter of recommendation on behalf
of a student, along with samples of such letters, on the web pages of the Office
of Career Services.
- Are
there career and job search services available to me?
- The Office of Career
Services offers free use of all their services and resources for Manchester faculty
and staff. Whether you need help updating a resume or vitae, help sharpening your
interviewing skills, direction as to a new career to pursue, or thoughts about
pursuing graduate school, OCS will work confidentially and discretely to assist

- Whom
do I contact to reserve various rooms on campus?
- To reserve
classrooms or computer labs, contact the Registrar’s Office at 260-982-5235.
- To reserve all other rooms, including athletic facilities in PERC and the Koinonia Retreat Center,
contact the Office of Conference Services at 260-982-5551, or e-mail Paula Finton.
- Room availability can checked by using the Virtual Event Management Service (VEMS) online.
- If I have a question about signs on campus, whom do I contact?
- Questions about or requests for campus signs should be directed to Joy Groninger, director of publications and design, at X5340 or e-mail jlgronigner@manchester.edu.
- How do I find the most economical way to send a large mailing?
- To arrange large outgoing mailings, contact Brenda Carver, administrative mail coordinator, at x5206 or bkcarver@manchester.edu.
- What are the procedures for getting a project designed and printed on campus?
- The Office of Publications and Design is located on the lower level of the Administration Building in Room 3. To arrange to have a project designed and printed, visit the office in person or call Steve McCall at x5016 or Joy Groninger at x5340. Printing projects may take 1-4 weeks, depending on the extent of the project.
- Are there guidelines for use of the College logo, Spartan head, MC, or College seal?
- Yes. All questions regarding the use of the College images (College logo, Spartan logo, College Seal, etc.) should be directed to Joy Groninger, director of publications. All faculty and staff should consult with Joy before using College images in letters, publications, signs, t-shirts, etc.
