We look
forward to welcoming hundreds of guests at Commencement activities on
the Manchester College campus on Sunday, May 18.
Graduation Day begins with Baccalaureate at 11 a.m. in Cordier Auditorium. This is a worship service for our seniors as they step into a new phase in their lives. The service includes a procession with the Faculty and seniors in academic regalia. Manchester College President
Dr. Jo Young Switzer will be the speaker. No tickets are required for Baccalaureate.
For lunch on Graduation Day, the dining commons in the College Union will offer a full buffet from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Cost is $7.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 12 and under, and $5.50 for senior citizens (tax included).
Commencement exercises take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Physical Education and Recreation Center (PERC). Each senior is eligible for five reserved seating tickets, which they can pick up in the College Business Office beginning May
5. Unreserved seating is available for those without tickets. On Commencement Sunday, ticket information will be available in the Office of the President, 260-982-5050.
Facilities for both Baccalaureate and Commencement are accessible. For further information on accommodations for those needing special seating, call the above phone number.
Professional photographers will record Commencement and take individual photographs of each student receiving the diploma. Information on these individual photos will be sent to students' families. In addition DVDs will be available. See “Student Information” to purchase DVDs. Other photography of students receiving their diplomas during the ceremony is strongly discouraged.
Seniors must complete their academic work and clear all financial obligations in the Business Office by 5 p.m. Friday, May
16. Students whose work is incomplete or who have unpaid financial obligations will receive only a diploma cover during the ceremony. The diploma will be released when records indicate students have fulfilled their obligations to Manchester College.
