Recent News
October 2009: The College has improved SpartanPrint so that its duplexing feature will be active by default. Students and now employees will print on both sides of the paper by default. This should reduce the number of sheets of paper used on campus.
Fall 2009: The College is proud to announce it's Trayless Dining Option. People who visit our cafeteria can choose to select food without the
use of a tray. Instead, people only choose plates/bowls of food they can carry
without a tray. This cuts down on water, food, and energy waste. To read more about our Trayless Dining Option, please click here.
July 2009: The Middle Eel River Watershed Initiative has released the first of its quarterly newsletters. It can be found by clicking here.
Summer 2009: The College is moving forward on several fronts:
- The College now purchases PCs that require significantly less power to operate.
- Staff is working modified hours in an attempt to reduce our electricity and cooling
needs.
- We have new software that allows ITS to turn off PCs when not in use but turn them back on to perform necessary maintenance/updates.
- In the fall, we'll be introducing a tray-less dining option to minimze food waste and save water and the cost of washing the trays.
- Also this fall, we plan to launch a "Take a Bike, Leave a Bike" program to offer another option to students to use their own locomotion to move about campus rather than use cars.
