Constitution Day program
is Sept. 17 at Manchester College
Area residents and students are invited to a Constitution Day program on Monday, Sept. 17 at Manchester College.
Dr. Ruth A. Chananie-Hill, visiting assistant professor of sociology, will discuss the controversial topic of same-sex marriage within the United States. A question-and-answer session will follow. The program begins at 10 a.m. in Wine Recital Hall.
Chananie-Hill taught at Southern Illinois University and Middle Tennessee State University and was managing editor of Sociological Spectrum journal of the Mid-South Sociological Association.
At Manchester, Chananie-Hill teaches Racial, Ethnic and Gender Group Relations; Introduction to Sociology and Social Research Methods.
The Sept. 17 program commemorates Sept. 17, 1787, the day delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution of the United States of America.
