A Cappella Choir joins MSO

for holiday concert Sunday, Dec. 2

 

       The holiday concert of the Manchester Symphony Orchestra will include the voices of the College’s A Cappella Choir. The music begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 in Cordier Auditorium.

       The 54-member orchestra of area and College musicians will perform Symphony No. 4 (The London) by Haydn, as well as The Beautiful Blue Danube and Thunder and Lightning, both by Strauss. Suzanne Gindin, assistant professor of music, will conduct.

       The choir will join the stage for songs of the season, and Gloria, composed by Debora DeWitt, former associate professor of music at the College.

       Also on the program is Christmas Fantasy for Tuba and Orchestra, composed by Debra Lynn, choir director and associate professor of music. Featured on tuba is Robert Lynn, assistant professor of music at Huntington University.

       Concert tickets are $7.50 at the door; reservations are not necessary.
