Writing Center director has "2010 Best Article"
of National Council of Teachers of English
Tamara O’Hearn, director of Manchester College’s Writing Center, authored the “2010 Best Article” of English Leadership Quarterly, published by the National Council of Teachers of English.
O’Hearn wrote “Unearthing Writing in Unlikely Places,” about teaching with one of her former students, 2009 Manchester graduate Laura McSpadden. “We did workshops on writing at a battered women’s shelter, a maximum security juvenile detention facility, a drug rehabilitation facility and a literacy center,” said O’Hearn, an assistant professor of English at the northern Indiana college.
