Manchester among “Best” 153 schools

in Midwest, says The Princeton Review

Manchester University is a “2013 Best College in the Midwest,” reports a leading guide for college-bound students, The Princeton Review. Manchester is among 153 recommended Midwest institutions posted on PrincetonReview.com this week. A total of 377 colleges and universities nationwide achieved the 2013 “Best Colleges” ranking, in regional lists.

“We are pleased that college guides recommend Manchester to students year after year,” said Dave McFadden, executive vice president. “This year, the University also has received high praise and rankings in college guides and education media for its culture of volunteerism and service, and as an outstanding work place. We appreciate the spotlight.”

Manchester’s commitment to academics played a special role in its “Best College” ranking, reports The Princeton Review.

Now, even more academic opportunities await students arriving for classes on Aug. 29 on the North Manchester campus, home to the undergraduate program. Students will find a brand-new learning center on the mall, filled with classrooms, laboratories and smart technology. The Academic Center faces the 7-year old Science Center, equally well-equipped for learning in the classroom, laboratory, small groups and side-by-side with faculty mentors.

“Our goal is simple: to identify some of the colleges and universities that we feel stand out within each region,” said The Princeton Review in its praise of Manchester University. “From several hundred schools in each region, we winnowed our list based on institutional data we collected directly from the schools, our visits to schools over the years, and the opinions of our staff, plus college counselors and advisors whose recommendations we invite,” said Robert Franek, senior vice president and publisher.

Manchester University offers more than 55 areas of undergraduate study on its North Manchester campus, graduate programs in education and athletic training, and a professional doctorate in pharmacy on its Fort Wayne campus. Learn more at www.manchester.edu.
