That’s What She Said spring play at Manchester
dives into women’s issues, with four perspectives
The popular “That’s What She Said” catch phrase from Saturday Night Live and The Office also is the title of the 2011 spring play at Manchester College. The show is a collection of four short plays sure to bring laughs and tears as the actors explore women’s issues in society.
Medea by Christopher Durang and Wendy Wasserstein offers a modern twist to the Greek tragedy. The Role of Della by John Wooten presents the struggles of an auditioning actor. Sentences and Words by Cynthia L. Cooper discusses the intrapersonal issue of revenge versus peace. And The Most Massive Woman Wins by Madeleine George explores the insecurity issues of women brought by societal expectations.
The show opens at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30 and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 1. Tickets are $7 for adults; $5 for senior citizens and MC employees. MC students attend free. The production may not be appropriate for children.
