MC begins search to replace

Switzer as academic VP, dean

Manchester College has opened its search for a vice president and dean for academic affairs to replace Jo Young Switzer, who will become the next president of Manchester College.

In addition to leadership of 70 full-time faculty members in instructional divisions, the athletics program and campus library, the new vice president will have a key role in executing a new five-year strategic plan for Manchester College.  Committee work and research for the strategic plan are under way.

Curriculum, academic programs, assessment, instructional technology and faculty development and recruitment are key roles of the vice president and dean for academic affairs. The liberal arts college has about 80 faculty members and 1,075 students, including 12 in the master of accountancy program.

Switzer has held the vice president/dean post since 1993. The Board of Trustees announced in August that she will succeed President Parker G. Marden, who is retiring.

The closing date for applications is Nov. 30. Candidates should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae and three professional performance references to: Manchester College, Attn: Kimberly A. Votaw, Vice President for Human Resources, 604 E. College Ave., North Manchester, IN 46962.

Manchester is a Church of the Brethren college; about 11 percent of its students are members of the church. For more information about Manchester College, visit www.manchester.edu
