Provenance:

Unknown.  In Archives prior to April 2006.  These objects were found on the shelves in the north section of the Archives Office. The Mrs. Calvin Ulrey photograph album (MC2006/41) was also found in the same general area as these pictures.

Biographical/Historical Note:

Buck family photos and interesting items.  In searching through the objects the following information was found:

Lulu Rae Young was the daughter of Nettie Buck and E. S. Young (presumable the same E. S. Young that was President of Manchester College, 1895 - 1899).  Lulu Rae's photo is included in this collection.

Calvin Ulrey was the husband of Miriam Gertrude Buck.  Miriam was also called Aunt Mida.

Calvin Ulrey was associated with the Early family. 

Nannie Buck married William Teeter.

Date of Accession: February 28, 2007.
Scope and Content Note: 1. Collection of marked and unmarked photographs and items of interest associated with the Buck family.

2.  The booklet from Calvin Ulrey's memorial service is included.  It has an extensive section about his life, writings from his friends, church associates and members of the Manchester College Board of Trustees. 

3.  A photograh of the young Calvin Ulrey with the Early girls.

4.  A pre-Civil War marriage certificate.

5.  Photographs of family homes.
