Biographical/Historical Note:

I. Bruce Book was a faculty member at Manchester College from 1900-1914.  During his time here, he taught literature, English, manual arts training, French, and modern languages.  He died on 7 September 1929.

Scope and Content Note:

This accession contains the original, signed contract for Professor Book's first year of teaching at Manchester (1900-1901), with the original envelope.  An additional short memo from R.C. Hollinger (Secretary of the Executive Committee) is included,  detailing a misunderstanding about whether his contract provides a salary plus board or a salary plus room and board.
