| Biographical/Historical Note: | The program includes a history of Weaver Popcorn that was started by I. E. Weaver, a Brethren minister, who started growing popcorn "to supplement his minister's salary and to fulfill his love for selling." Welcome Weaver, worked with his father to pick and distribute the corn. Welcome was an active member in the Methodist Church and served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Manchester College. In 1988 her received an honorary degree from Manchester. |
