Historical Note: Joseph Cunningham was the first African-American college athlete at Manchester.  He was also one of the first African-American students, along with his sister Mattie Cunningham Dolby.
Scope and Content Note:
1 Group photo of Lincoln Society, taken on 14 March 1903.  Cunningham is seated in middle of front row.  Many of the other students are also identified.
2 Group photo of baseball team of 1904.  Cunningham is in back row, third from left.  Willard Burrous is in back row, far left.
3-4 Group photo of basketball team of 1903-04.  Cunningham is in middle row, far right.  Willard Burrous is in middle row, far left.
