Biographical/Historical Note:

The following statement appeared in volume 1, issue 1:

SISTERHOOD SPEAKS is an effort by a group of women to express a definite need in communication.  This particular newsletter was written by a smaller group of women, and we hope that more women will feel free to express themselves through submitting future articles, poems, and art work to SISTERHOOD SPEAKS.  We feel that there is a real need to get information out concerning ourselves and things that effect [sic] us.  We hope it will open up further discussion and in the process the women coordinating articles will realize the meaning and joy in working with other sisters and doing productive work.  A real spirit is growing among women and SISTERHOOD SPEAKS is only an expression of it.

The newsletter, produced by Manchester College students, has ceased publication, date unknown.
