Marty was a student at Manchester from 1963 - 1965. She talks about, "One Woman's Journey into the Legal Profession," and "Confrontation with Choice." One reel-to-reel tape and two CD's, each recording portions of Ms. West's presentation. We as women are faced with too many choices, too many different roles we are asked to play and that we want to play. The solution is to confront choices and make new societal structures as we go through changes in roles and life patterns that are inevitable for all of us. | Studebaker, George and Mary: Diaries and Autograph Books | MC2011/90a,b,c,d | Two autograph books, MC2011/90a beloning to Mary (Mollie) and Andrew Studebaker. It is the Archivist's theory that they were brother and sister and shared these books because autographs are written out to both Andrew Simonton and to Mollie and to Mary (the same individual). This book begins 1880 or 1881. The second autograph book, MC2011/90b appears to belong to Mary Simonton (Mollie) and George Studebaker, her future husband has an inscription in the book on May 21, 1881. The two diaries MC2011/90c and MC2011/90d are dated 1888 and 1936 and belonged to George Studebaker. See Also: "Memories of...Manchester," by Otho Winger, pgs. 159, 160. |
| Studebaker, George L. and Mary E.: Photograph | MC2004/634 | George L. Studebaker and Mary E. Simonton Studebaker photograph. "Uncle George" and "Aunt Mollie." According to Otho Winger, George L. Studebaker is one of the most familiar names connected with Manchester College. George was born in Illinois in 1861. He came with his parents to Indiana when two years old. He was called into the ministry in the Church of the Brethren in 1881 and married Mary E. Simonton in 1882. He was pastor of the Church of the Brethren in Muncie from 1897 to 1906. The family moved to North Manchester in order that their son, Mark E., might attend college. Here, George Studebaker served as field representative and Mrs. Studebaker as matron of the Ladies' Home. They became known to hundreds of students as "Uncle George" and "Aunt Mollie." |

| Tanimato, Kiyoshi: A Message of Warning and Hope | Convocation Tape #135: Tanimato, Kiyoshi | Rev. Kiyoshi was a survivor of the bombing of Hiroshima and worked with victims of the bomb. He raised funds for the Hiroshima Maidens project in which women, severly burned by the bomb, received constructive surgery. He also raised funds for a peace center in Hiroshima. His message was delivered on 11 October 1982.

There is a plethora of art for purchase, from newly sprouting galleries to department stores. "Sears Roebuck and Co." feels as if there is a big need for art in areas where galleries are few. The tape was labeled "two women gibberish," however some might find the subject of their "gibberish" interesting. The rest of the tape faintly records stock prices. |

This is the same year that she began entries in "The Hand O Graphs" book, and kept make entries for years following. This book comes with the instructions: Place your hand, palm downwards, on the paper and trace outline. There are a couple examples given, and then the individual is on her own to gather outlines of the hands of friends, family and celebrities on the following pages. It is like an autograph book for hands. The name of the individual is also recorded along with the date. |

Allen Willmert, College Librarian Emeritus, 9 April 1990 listing the books that Harold Yoder donated to Funderburg Library. Harold Yoder wrote a special note to accompany his donation of the 1901 Hymnal. It stated that the 1901 Hymnal was used at the Camp Creek Church of the Brethren where his wife, Ella Yoder (deceased) worshipped as a girl. |
