Bio History Note
At the time the address was given, Andrew Young was U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. He was the husband of Manchester alumna, Jean Childs Young. Young had been active in the Civil Rights movement working next to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Young went on to be Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia.
