Bio History Note

Elizabeth Cotton C, composer of "Freight Train."  One of the country's top Folk Blues guitarist presents a convocation at Manchester College.  She plays the guitar and gives personal reflections about life in the rural south in the first years of the 20th century and reflections about aging.

If the information on the audio tape box is accurate the date of the presentation is 4 October 1976.
