15th Annual Student Research Symposium

IMPORTANT DATES!!

  • Friday, March 8: A one-page abstract of the student presentation should come from students electronically to the Office of Academic Affairs by 5:00 p.m. to Katie Winkler at klwinkler@manchester.edu. Please, no hard copies.

Sample abstracts are posted in the box to the right.

  • Friday, March 15: Presenters will be notified of their selection. 

  • Friday, April 5: An electronic copy of the full paper is due in the Office of Academic Affairs by noon. Please electronically send papers to Katie Winkler at klwinkler@manchester.edu Submissions after this deadline will not be considered for the Jo Young Switzer Award.

DETAILS

  • Presentations include original research, posters, creative performance, or creative work.

  • Students who have presented their work in other settings such as departmental meetings, classes, divisional seminars, recitals, art shows, regional and national honors conferences may submit modified presentations for this program.

  • Panels should consist of no more than four people.

  • Download and complete this Abstract Form. The abstract should be a summary of your paper, poster or video and should not be more than 1 page in length.  Please submit the abstract form when you submit your abstract.
  • All participants will receive written feedback from faculty evaluators.

  • Up to three participants will receive the Jo Young Switzer Award. Rules and evaluation rubrics will be provided at a later date.

  • Formal presentations should last no more than 18 minutes, with 5 additional minutes allowed for audience questions.
