Supporting MU Through Student Recruiting

S.T.A.R. ProgramS.T.A.R. Alumni Recruiting Program
Making it in the world today is easier when you have connections. If you make the right connections, you can change your life – or the lives of others.

The Manchester University Spartan Team of Alumni Recruiters (S.T.A.R.) is comprised of alumni who volunteer to make connections for college-bound students. They help connect students to Manchester by sharing their valuable experiences, providing information about the University and helping to put them in touch with MU staff who can guide them through the college admissions process.

How can you help?
S.T.A.R. members spread the word about Manchester to college-bound students and send referrals to the MU Office of Admissions. They help out at campus events and college fairs, make phone calls and bring prospects to campus for visits. And as a S.T.A.R. member, you'll have the ability to waive application fees for students who decide to apply to Manchester.

There are a number of ways alumni spread the word about Manchester to college-bound students. As a S.T.A.R. member, you can:

  • fill out a referral form to alert us of a student who might be a good fit for Manchester;
  • request Manchester University literature to give to students;
  • help at a campus event or college fair near you;
  • arrange to bring a student to campus for a visit;
  • make phone calls to interested students;
  • waive application fees for students who decide to apply to Manchester.

How you decide to help is up to you. Helping can be fun, and knowing that a young person will attend Manchester with the help of your guidance is the biggest reward.

How do you start?
Fill out this online form to sign up to be a S.T.A.R. member! Check all the ways you'll be willing to help. We'll contact you when an opportunity comes up to use your assistance. We'll also send an occasional e-mail to keep you up to date with ongoing recruiting efforts by the Office of Admissions and provide tips about information to share with prospective students. Feel free to opt out of the e-mails or the S.T.A.R. program at any time.

If you'd like to help students find their place at Manchester, but can't afford to donate your time, consider a gift to The Manchester Fund, which, among other things, provides scholarship assistance to help students attend Manchester.
