J. GORDON KEEVER ’47 of Brookville, Ohio, who served 37 years on the
Manchester College Board of Trustees, including three
terms as chair, was a member of the M Association and
the A Cappella Choir. He retired as assistant treasurer
of NCR Corp. in 1985 after 36 years service. He tended
livestock as a “seagoing cowboy” on a shipment
overseas by Heifer International. He is survived by his
wife of 60 years, Lovena Fidler ’48 Keever. He was 83. MARCH 22, 2009
* GILBERT R. WELDY ’49 of North Manchester, who served on the Manchester
College Board of Trustees, Alumni Board, as executive
director of the M Association and received the Alumni
Honor Award in 1986. With his wife Dorothy Garver
’49 Weldy, he was a proud supporter of MC programs,
celebrations, Spartan teams and fundraising. The
30-year school administrator served as a smoke jumper
in Civilian Public Service. He was 84.
