Mike “Doc” Emrick ’68 of
Michigan has received the
Foster Hewitt Memorial
Award, the highest honor of
the Hockey Hall of Fame for
contributions to hockey
broadcasting. Emrick, the
pre-eminent National
Hockey League (NHL)
play-by-play broadcaster in
the United States, is the
television voice of the New
Jersey Devils, and calls the
NHL Stanley Cup
Championship series, as well
as Olympic ice hockey and
