Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award

The Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes Manchester University alumni, age 31-40, who:

  • demonstrate outstanding leadership in their careers,
  • contribute to the betterment of their community and its citizens, and
  • retain a strong alliance with the University.

2014 Winner
Aaron Durnbaugh '96Aaron Durnbaugh '96 – Aaron Durnbaugh is the director of sustainability at Loyola University Chicago. As a LEED accredited professional, he builds innovation and efficiency into the University’s programs and student experience, focusing on water protection, energy conservation and mission-driven sustainability action. He also serves as vice chair of the Chicago Wilderness Alliance and as a member of the Vibrant Cities and Urban Forest Task Force. As the deputy commissioner of the Chicago Department of Environment’s Natural Resource and Water Quality Division, he oversaw the city of Chicago’s climate adaptation strategy. [READ CITATION]
