Times for music events this weekend/Monday are correct on this calendar, in the news releases and on our home page ... but incorrect on our web Campus Calendar. Sorry, we are trying to correct the glitch ...

To make our computers (PCs) ready for Daylight Saving Time, we need to run two updates by Saturday evening:  MS Outlook and Java.  Click on this link to view step-by-step instructionsNote:  MS Outlook update takes care of Outlook appointments we have created.  Appointments accepted that are dated between March 11 and the end of the month will not be updated until the owner of the appointment runs MS Outlook update on her/his PC. MC's weekly update by Doug Shoemaker, sports information director

The Department of Communication Studies and the staff of WBKE-FM apologize to all expecting a live broadcast of the March 2 women’s basketball game at the NCAA championships. The Lake Forest, Ill., venue failed to provide us with a promised feed. Byron Sweet, WBKE student sports director did broadcast the game, assuming the feed problem would be resolved.

Oldies but still goodies from recent MEMOs

March 11 … that’s when Daylight Savings Time once again affects our calendar systems, especially Outlook. The federal government has declared that DST starts on the second Sunday of March and ends the first Sunday of November. ITS is preparing, but expect to repair some appointments manually. It is HIGHLY ADVISED that we print out our Outlook calendars next Friday before leaving campus, to use as a reference for accuracy. It is also possible our voice mail may stumble. For home PCs: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cp_dst. As always, contact the ITS Help Desk if needed.

Topic of the March SOC luncheon is the New Zealand trip Scott Strode (communication studies) led during January Session. Bring your lunch and co-workers to the Oakwood great room at noon, Wednesday, March 14. Please let Allison Keating (x5432) know if you plan to attend to ensure seating.

It’s time for the spring walking challenge! Submit your time spent walking or running April 1 to April 15 to Health Services. Prizes! MEMO Lady is accepting challenges or walking buddies. Send walk/run totals for the 15 days to healthservices@manchester.edu by April 19. Questions? Tara Vogel or Kelly Hippensteel. Walk during this time and earn a wellness point.

March 15 is Pick Up The Tab Day … the day when students’ tuition payments no longer cover the cost of their education, and donors “pick up the tab.” Events are planned from noon to 2 p.m. at the College Union.

A faculty info session on Indiana Campus Compact grants starts at 4 p.m. on March 15 in Winger 111. ICC Associate Director J.R. Jamison will discuss the opportunities and recent recipients of ICC grants will report.

Mark your calendars! for the all-staff meetings, when we’ll recognize service, learn what's going on, do a Q&A with President Switzer and chuckle a bit, although not necessarily in that order. All of the 45-minute meetings start promptly at 8 a.m., with coffee and sweets the half-hour beforehand to give us a chance to chat up folks from other parts of campus we rarely see.

                               Thursday, March 22 (spring break)

                               Thursday, June 28

                               Thursday, Oct. 18 (fall break)
