Thanks to three MC scientists who helped more than 120 area high school scholars consider global warming and other environmental issues at the Rotary World Affairs Conference earlier this month. Following a video presentation by Purdue University scientists, Jerry Sweeten, Jeff Osborne and David Hicks shared their knowledge and various treasures with the rapt youths.

More Advising and Registration Days … we’ve added another date to the schedule for our  new students to meet one-on-one with faculty, settle financial details, smile for their ID photos and register for classes. Here’s the schedule:

July 1

August 19

Are you bilingual? Campus Safety and Security maintains a list of local volunteers, who may be called upon to interpret for College and local public safety officials. Interpreters may be called at odd times, as emergencies occur at all hours. To volunteer, contact Karen Burns, x5001.

Blogging for Thomas Marshall …We’ve opportunity to pitch in our 2 cents to help the community woo an $8,500 grant from General Mills and Hamburger Helper to complete the final phase of the Thomas Marshall Restoration Project. The North Manchester community already has invested countless hours of volunteer labor, fund-raisers and $57,000 in local dollars toward restoration of the birthplace home of our 27th president, now located next to the public library on Market Street. Here’s the link to lend verbal support to the grant proposal.  The website is My Hometown Helper.com.
