Our Board of Trustees gathers on
campus next Friday and Saturday,
April 18-19, for the spring meeting. We are welcome at four of the
Friday committee meetings (1:30 to 3:30 p.m.). The Board Briefing

Juried Student Art Show is up in
Link Gallery. Painting, drawing, photography, ceramics,
weaving, batiks and deconstructed books …. 44 artworks by students
at all levels in art and arts-related courses this academic year.
The jurors are Art Department faculty members

surrounding Wine Recital Hall ends April 30.

A representative will be on campus at lunchtime next Wednesday,
April 16, in the Plowshares Library, 206 Calvin Ulrey. This
confidential service is free to all College employees, for the first
five sessions. The Bowen Center representative also will be on
campus Aug. 20 and Nov. 19. The schedule is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. all
days.
Spartan Day is April 23.
High school students are invited to a special day tailored just for
them at Manchester College later this month. Lots of faculty and
staff pitch in on this important day. Tell a student about
Manchester College! Invite them to schedule a visit.

Visit the Art Institute of Chicago
with alumni, friends and Jim & Thelma on Wednesday, April
30. The trip includes exhibits of the works of Edward Hopper and
Winslow Homer, with Jim Adams and Thelma Rohrer as our guides
– or just spend the day sightseeing and shopping. Cost is $75 for
the art trip; $55 just for transportation. (Art students pay $20.)
The bus leaves the College Union at 8 a.m., returning about 9:30
p.m., MC time. There’s a Warsaw stop, too. Contact the

Online registration begins
for sophomores next Monday, April 14. First-year students will have
access April 16-18. In-person registration in the Registrar’s Office
continues at the same time. Test phases of this new system went
quite smoothly, reports Registrar Lila! Returning seniors, juniors
and a few sophomores may register online after the 14th but must
have their paperwork in.

Volunteers are needed this Saturday
at The Firehouse to help install energy-efficient heating
and flooring in the youth music center downtown North Manchester.

We’re invited to hear former Fort Wayne Mayor Graham Richard discuss
his “High Performance Government Network” at 2 p.m. on Wednesday,
April 23. The program in the Café of the College Union belongs to
the Innovation Coffee House of the Johnston Entrepreneurship
Program. Fort Wayne City Council Member Glynn Hines ’73 will join
us.
We’ll unite again to Spruce Up campus,
but
the Staff Organization Committee (SOC) wants to know our suggestions

facilities for 2008-2009 meetings, events, etc. with
Conference Services in its first-come, first-serve system. Simply
fill out the
Virtual Event Management System (VEMS) form or send an e-mail
request to Paula Finton.

The Association of International
Educators annual conference May 25-30 in Washington,
D.C., is expected to attract 8,000 attendees from more than 100
countries, including Thelma Rohrer (art, international studies,
academic enrichment), Jackie Nagila (multicultural affairs,
diversity) and Sandy Bendsen (Success Center, enrollment).
