Transitions …

The final moves and heavy lifting
are under way in a massive shuffle of offices and
departments. Some of the shift is temporary as we await financing
and reconstruction of The Holl-Kintner Center, but most are the
result of great new spaces in the College Union. This is a domino
effect: As offices are emptied, others will take possession, leaving
those empty offices for another tier of moves.
SEVEN
buildings are involved. That means logistics by Dave Friermood
and his crew, ITS and our Telephone Guy, Larry Gyrion … and those
moving.
In a nutshell ...
Success Center and Career Services = College Union upstairs
Student Activities = Calvin Ulrey basement
Education Department = Calvin Ulrey first floor (former
Career Services)
Communication faculty = Calvin Ulrey third floor; classes
Holl-Kintner
Economics faculty = Calvin Ulrey third floor; classes in
Holl-Kintner
Conference Services = College Union upstairs
Music Department = Winger, but many take new
offices
Financial Aid = Business Office, Ad Building
first floor
Business Office (some) = former Education
offices, Ad Building first floor
Volunteer Services and Indiana Reading Corps =
East Hall basement

The BIG Meeting is next Monday!
Some call this the Let’s-All-Get-On-The-Same-Page-Meeting. Or:

folks from all campus departments gather to talk about how we can
help our incoming students succeed – especially in their first
months on campus. It is scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, July

coordinate scheduling and work assignments. Meet at the Maintenance

either day. An ice cream social is planned on Aug. 15.
There’s still time to sign up for
Crisis Intervention Team training Aug. 2-3. This is for
all security and hall directors for sure, and counselors. Anyone
else who has direct contact with students (faculty and staff) is
welcome. The two days of training are filled with Bowen Center
experts on topics ranging from anti-social behavior and attachment
disorder to suicide prevention and crisis intervention.
Here are the details.
Deadline for registration is July 27 to
