Stan Gilbert ’66 savored each day,
and we shall miss our alumnus and board
member. Stan, 62, died Sept. 20, of complications following a heart
attack. He began his service as a representative of the Church of
the Brethren on our Board of Trustees in 2002 and served on the
academic affairs, nominating, trustee affairs and student
development committees. He was an attorney adviser for the Office of

How’s our service?
Snitch
on a co-worker who is going the extra mile with customer service. HR
is calling the event “Caught in the Act,” recognizing National
Customer Service Week. The sightings should be fairly recent, and we
cannot nominate ourselves.
Here’s a link to the
nominating form. Deadline is 5 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 5 to Human
Resources. Campus Store gift certificates go to the employee caught
in the act ($50) and the nominator ($25).
Reminder: Human Resources has a
temp pool of students who are available to help offices and
departments with their one-time or sporadic needs for additional
student help. HR prefers 24- to 48-hours of notice, but may be able
to accommodate last-minute requests. The temp pool includes clerical
and crew members, and (new) a web designer to help update/maintain
department pages, for example. Contact
Carrie
Makin in HR, x5559.
