Sign up now for emergency alerts … please!
In a crisis, we need to touch bases with
every single one of us … those who have not registered their cell
phone numbers and e-mail (text message) addresses for instant alert,
please do so now. MC will use mass-notification only for
emergencies, such as serious violence or natural disaster. If your
wireless is Centennial, for example, your e-mail address is
your 10-digit phone number@cwemail.com
such as 2601234567@cwemail.com.

Planning a fund-raiser? We must have approval from
College Advancement,
which is charged with raising funds for the College, and
coordinating on-campus and off-campus solicitation for
funds, incuding in-kind gifts. Students, faculty and
staff and organizations must submit a written proposal
to the Vice President for College Advancement at
least 30 days before any organized fund-raising –
on- or off campus.
We
need approval from College Advancement before submitting
any grant proposals. Here are
guidelines for grant writing
and the grant proposal request form for MC faculty and
staff.
Is your Manchester College name badge
turning blue?
Yuck! Some newer badges apparently are defective. Our MC name badge
should be crisp white with a logo and black lettering. If it is
blurry or changing colors, take it to the Office of Publications and
Design (garden level of the Ad Building, AD 3) by this Friday, Oct.
12, to get a replacement.

You’re Awesome! Thanks!

Everybody's talking about how
great Homecoming 2007 was, combining Parents & Family Weekend with
dedication of our College Union, and those special events stitched
into the fun –
from the dedication of the Dan West plaque in the Muir Peace Garden
to the theatre partying (and Foxfire performance!), the Spartan and
M Association celebrations, and the donor and alumni celebrations,
and the kid's pumpkin painting by our future educators, and that
really odd basketball game, the golf outing, and the hours and hours
of preparations and smiles -- especially by our College Advancement
team!
What a
fantastic Success Center open house Oct. 1! It was well-planned and
executed. It was high-energy and lots of fun! Most importantly, it
continued to reinforce the idea to 105 student attendees that the
Success Center is their place for academic, career, and personal
assistance. Thanks to everyone who put in time and effort in making
last night such a success. Special thanks go to
Jennifer Fisher and
Rebecca Parker
and the tremendous amount of work they invested in
making this event outstanding. – Stuart
Jones
