News to know ...

More than 143 guests are expected for the Scholarship Dinner this Saturday night in the College Union, sponsored by College Advancement. At least 80 students will personally thank their donors at the annual event. RSVPs are overdue to Lisa Templin (college advancement), x5412.

New phones! We have new phones! Well, some of us have, and soon, all of us will. These marvels of technology are magically appearing on our desks (we don’t need to be present for the installation), courtesy of a driven ITS team.

Clear a spot on your desk today for the new phones, as close as possible to the computer.

Use the new phones now for all calls off-campus (including long distance) or to MC colleagues who have the new phones. Click here for an updated list of who has them. Report errors to Help Desk.

Sign up for training with Help Desk or Allison Keating. We have a choice of 18 sessions! The 1½-hour classes are at six different times over three days: Dec. 3-5: 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Voice mail from either phone will appear in your Outlook mailbox.

Check your phone to ensure the phone line is correct, that it works correctly, and that call features are functional. Report glitches, problems or changes to Help Desk.

Live campuswide! at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6

Did you know there are seven offices in the garden level of East Hall??? The Office of Volunteer Services is especially warm and inviting, thanks to the decorating skills of supervisor Carole Miller-Patrick, pictured here with sophomore elementary education major Megan Gunder. Just enter via the northeast corner of the building, and along the hall are great spaces for: Aurora yearbook, Oak Leaves student newspaper, Islamic Prayer Room, Faculty Executive Office, Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, Kiwanis Circle K Club, Service Club, Pathways, Office of Volunteer Services, Indiana Reading Corps and

Carole Miller-Patrick!

Same room, new name, sort of. One of the three main conference rooms on the upper floor of the College Union has a new name. The Trochu Room now is the Hoff Room; signs are updated to indicate the change. In referring to the room, please call it the Hoff Room.
