All
students residing in College residence halls are required to be
on one of three meal plans:
- A
20-meal plan, three meals per day, with the exception of the Sunday
evening meal is available to all students.
- A
14-meal plan with $100 bonus bucks per semester is available to
sophomores, juniors, seniors and non-resident students. It consists
of 14 meals per week, at the option of the subscriber.
- A
10-meal plan with $25 bonus bucks per semester is available to
juniors, seniors and non-resident students. It consists of 10
meals per week, at the option of the subscriber.
- Meals are provided under these plans only when residence halls are officially opened.
- Special
dinners, premium nights, holiday specials, etc. are available
to students who subscribe to a meal plan. Meals can also be purchased on a cash basis by students, faculty, and staff.
-
The Food Service Committee consists of students and staff members
who oversee the quality of food options and the quality of service
provided. The Committee meets biweekly and is receptive
to suggestions and concerns regarding dining services.
- Meal
tickets are available to commuter students, faculty and staff
at 10 percent savings on cafeteria meals and The Oaks
snack bar purchases. Food tickets may be purchased in The
Oaks. Tickets are not transferable. Faculty, staff, students
and guests may also obtain meals on a cash basis.
- Class
or work schedule conflicts, and other difficulties related to
dining service hours should be discussed with the director of dining services so alternative dining arrangements can be made.
- The
director of dining services and the director of health services
work with students, their parents, and their physicians if necessary,
to plan meals which meet specific dietary needs.
Exemptions:
The director of health services may grant meal plan exceptions for
medical reasons. Applications for exemptions may be obtained from
the Office of Health Services. Students involved in field experience
or students teaching or who are involved in other academically related
programs may petition through the Office of Health Services for exemption
from food plan during the period of that experience. Students involved
in an off-campus class for all or part of January session may obtain
applications for exemption from meal plans through their respective
professor and/or the Office of Academic Affairs.
