Danette TillDanette is a graduate of Manchester University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in social work. While working full time after Manchester University she earned two master's degrees: a Master of Science at Indiana Wesleyan and a Master of Social Work at Indiana University, Indianapolis. She is also licensed as a clinical social worker. Danette has worked previously with victims of crime allowing her knowledge and experience with domestic violence, sexual abuse, child abuse (physical, emotional and sexual) and grief and loss. She has worked in foster care, developing a special needs and foster care adoption program in northern Indiana. This has provided her insight into the transitional needs of adults and children, and the challenges of growing a small business. Immediately prior to returning to her alma mater, she worked for five years at an inpatient behavioral health unit providing individual, group and family therapy to young persons and their families. Returning to Manchester University to talk with students and share in their college experiences is a great joy.

Assistant Director of Career and Counseling Serivces, Hannah Stork

Hannah StorkHannah began working for Manchester University in 2011. She is a graduate of Indiana Tech, where she earned a degree in Communication with a concentration is Public Relations. She plans on receiving her master’s degree in Liberals Arts from Indiana University, Fort Wayne in December 2012. Her prior work experience has been primarily in admissions, career services, and coordinating activities. Hannah oversees MU’s NCAA Spartan CHOICES grant and works to provide positive alternative activities for MU student participation. She enjoys talking with students about future goals, experiences at MU, and life in general. Her office is located in the Union, 2nd floor Success Center.

Facilitators

To schedule an appointment with one of the facilitators, please call Kelly Hippensteel, administrative assistant for Health and Counseling Services, at 260-982-5306. Facilitators are not prepared to address mental health needs, but are available to assist students to deal with transition issues, to help students explore options and link to resources, or simply to listen and talk out thoughts or feelings about a concern or need.

Allen MachielsonAllen Machielson is in his sixth year at Manchester University and his previous experience encompasses residential life, student development and campus ministry at various colleges and universities for over 18 years. His office is located in Calvin Ulrey Hall, 2nd floor.

Campus Pastor, Walt Wiltschek

Walt WiltschekWalt began working at Manchester University in February 2010, working with chapel activities and various religious life groups on campus. He is an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren and previously worked at the denominational headquarters in Elgin, Ill., and as a local and district youth minister. He holds a master’s degree in religion from Lancaster (Pa.) Theological Seminary and a master’s in communication from Northern Illinois University. He enjoys talking about questions of faith, spirituality, vocation/calling, and life in general. His office is located in Petersime Chapel.

Director of Multicultural Affairs and Campus Diversity, Michael Dixon

Michael DixonMichael began working at Manchester University in 2011. Michael has experience in intercultural life, leadership development, admissions, and in coordinating activities. He has also taught classes at the college level. He has worked at Guilford College, Knox College, and St. Ambrose University. His office is located in the Intercultural Center.
