101 Days to Commencement

101 Days to Commencement

Thursday, Feb. 10 marks a special day for MC seniors it's 101 days before their college graduation.

The Manchester College Office of Alumni Relations annually hosts a 101 Days to Commencement celebration for graduating seniors, where they're offered words of encouragement and advice as they prepare to say goodbye to Manchester and move on to their next life experiences. Students enjoy a special dinner served by faculty and staff, and presentations from President Switzer and others. Before the evening is over, they'll be welcomed as alumni from the Alumni Board president.

Students will also receive their first instructions about Graduation Day, including details about ordering caps, gowns and graduation announcements. There is no cost for caps and gowns, but they must complete an order form online. Watch www.manchester.edu for more details about Graduation Day 2011.

Lil' Sibs are a big deal at MC!

Lil' Sibs WeekendLil' Sibs Weekend, April 1-2, 2011, is an opportunity for students to bring their younger brother or sister (or any niece, nephew, cousin or friend who is 5-12 years old) to campus for a weekend full of fun activities and entertainment, including:

  • Giant Twister
  • Cosmic 3-D Mini-Golf
  • Build-a-Bear
  • Bowling
  • Inflatables
  • Face painting
  • Break dancing
  • And more!

All weekend activities, sponsored by Manchester Activities Council (MAC), are free to your student and his or her lil' sib (including meals), but all who plan to attend will need to complete a registration form and waiver. Phonathon and the Manchester Fund put students first

Phonathon student callerThroughout the spring semester, more than 20 Manchester College students will call alumni, parents and friends to ask for their help in reaching this year’s Manchester Fund goal of $1 million. Tuition at Manchester doesn’t cover the full cost of a college education, and donations that Phonathon callers raise help make up the difference.

The Manchester Fund pays for energy costs, upgrades classroom technology, helps maintain buildings and grounds and, most importantly, is a significant source of financial aid for our students – keeping a Manchester education within reach.  If a student Phonathoner calls you, any size gift is greatly appreciated. Gifts to The Manchester Fund can also be made online.

It’s a great way to help deserving students!  Learn more about Phonathon.
