Organizations

Hispanos Unidos (HU)

Hispanos Unidos (Hispanics United) is a support organization for Hispanic students and those interested in learning more about Hispanic culture. Some activities include International Fair, dances and festivals in surrounding areas, field trips to Chicago and Indianapolis, and visits to a Spanish Roman Catholic Mass and to exhibits supporting Hispanic culture in surrounding areas.

HU creates joint activities with surrounding colleges' Hispanos Unidos groups; hosts speakers and presentations on issues important in the Hispanic culture; teaches cultural dances, music, and games; and celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with more exposure to the Hispanic culture. HU promotes community among Hispanic students and fosters Hispanic culture through social, cultural, and educational activities. HU has participated in United Hispanic Annual Fiesta! in Fort Wayne, Fiesta Indy, visits to Spanish Catholic mass and a Goshen Spanish Mennonite church service, and other social and cultural events.

Hispanos Unidos meets biweekly on Thursdays at 9 p.m. in the Intercultural Center, and all students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in the development of the organization.
