The assistant director will be responsible for on-campus outreach in
order to promote community service activities and to market the
Office of Volunteer Services as a resource for volunteer projects.
The assistant director will initiate and maintain contact with
student organizations, academic departments, and other campus groups
and will organize referrals and resources to aid these organizations
in their community service endeavors. The assistant director
will develop marketing materials to promote the service of OVS.
The assistant director will also report volunteer projects and
announce upcoming events to the Director of Campus Involvement.
The assistant director will also provide support for volunteer
events and activities organized by OCS. The student in this
position would be training to take over a director position when one
becomes available.
PLEASE NOTE:
We are
looking for one responsible student who is committed to service
and can provide leadership and organizational skills to the
office. We would like the assistant director to start in
the fall 2008 semester. In order to have long-term commitment, preference will be given to underclassmen. Depending on the abilities and interests of the candidate who is hired, these job descriptions are subject to change.
