Thomas Bimba

“As I left my Pathways summer experience, I understood that every individual, even the strongest amongst us, has a longing to be loved.” This was an opportunity of a lifetime.”
—Thomas Bimba ’08

Pathways seeks to nurture students through broad theological and vocational resources, challenge them with international experiences, and continue to engage them with their local faith communities and the national Church of the Brethren network.

Countless lives are enriched by Pathways:

  • Student participants expand their faith perspective.

  • Faculty and staff members “connect” with students and are enriched by their conversations about faith and vocation.

  • Co-workers of Manchester College students in agencies across the United States are revitalized by this next generation of service participants.

  • Congregations are re-energized as they connect with college students in new ways.

  • The Church of the Brethren and other faith communities will be renewed by future collaborations of young adults who have critically examined the intersection of faith, learning, and service as they explore their personal questions of vocation during their college years.

Caitlin Haynes ('08) utilized a Pathways Imagination Grant last summer to work in Quito, Ecuador with an organization called Kallari (www.kallari.com)

Pathways complements what we do best at Manchester College: provide unique and challenging opportunities for our students. The Pathways program is well-integrated into our campus ministry, providing opportunities for students of all faiths to explore their personal understanding of vocational calling.  As an institution of higher education committed to developing students with ability and conviction, Manchester College offers service opportunities and vocational exploration to all academic majors. We know that members of the next generation of leaders are among our students of today.
