Since the beginning of this academic year, the Campus Safety Department has received several reports of vehicle break-ins and vandalism to motor vehicles, including vehicles owned by students, employees, and the College.  Some of these incidents include the theft of stereos, tires and wheels, license plates, and other valuables from within the locked vehicles.  Cordier Auditorium was targeted for theft and vandalism, and the perpetrator(s) also vandalized six parked vehicles by dumping paint on them.   While the majority of the incidents occurred in the Schwalm Hall parking lot, some acts have been reported from other parking areas on campus.  We have also become aware of a series of similar incidents within the surrounding community of North Manchester.

The Safety Office is asking for your help with the identification of the person(s) responsible for these crimes.  If you have any information pertaining to any acts of vandalism and/or theft, please call 5999 and speak with the on-duty officer.  You may also leave anonymous information on the Confidential Tip Line, 5995.  You do not have to provide your name, unless you want the investigator to contact you.  We are also asking for your help in preventing similar acts in the future.  If you witness any suspicious activity, or notice any suspicious persons, immediately contact the on-duty officer, by calling 5999.  Additionally, please remember to park your vehicle in well-lighted areas, remove the keys, and conceal and secure your valuables.  Thank you for your assistance.
