Conduct
vehicle and foot patrols in a manner conducive
to the detection of safety/security violations
or problems.

Patrol
the campus and respond with appropriate action
in the event of an emergency or other unusual
event.

Check,
secure, open and close College buildings
according to a schedule provided by the Director
and other officials.

Monitor
campus roadways and parking areas and enforce
traffic and parking rules and regulations.

Conduct
follow-up investigations of all crimes,
incidents, and unusual occurrences.

Have
in place updated plans for emergency responses
to fires, bomb threats, weather emergencies,
natural disasters, or other unusual events.

Serve
as a visible representative of the College and
provide information and directions to campus
visitors.

Conduct
periodic safety/security audits of each
building, parking lot, and other areas of
campus.

Provide
educational programs to the campus community,
emphasizing how safety and security are shared
responsibilities, and encouraging all members of
the community to be proactive participants in
any successful safety/security program.

Ensure
that the campus community is aware of safety and
security issues through the posting of alerts
and the collection and dissemination of crime
statistics.

Provide
escort service to anyone requesting it.

Provide vehicle
unlocks and jump starts upon request.

Provide
assistance in contacting off campus officials
and services upon request.

Foster
confidence in the Department of Safety and
Security by emphasizing a professional
appearance and service orientation.
