Petersime Chapel is located in the center of campus at the south end of the mall. The building has a sanctuary, conference room, lounge, library, prayer/mediation rooms, the pastor's office, and the assistants' office. It celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011-2012.
Chapel services are held in Petersime Chapel every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Attendance is voluntary, but these services provide opportunities for students, staff, and faculty to worship together. The campus pastor and student assistants plan services that allow interested students to participate in music, drama, scripture reading, and other expressions of worship that celebrate the life of Christ, the grace of God, and the joys and concerns of the University community. Other special services are occasionally held each semester. See the calendar for upcoming worship opportunities.
While Manchester University is affiliated with the Church of the Brethren, the chapel services are ecumenical.
On Wednesday nights, an upbeat, student-led "Praise Jam" time of singing and prayer is held in the chapel from 10-11 p.m.
On Sunday mornings, students are encouraged to attend a local congregation. To schedule a ride for Sunday morning, call or e-mail the Campus Ministry/Religious Life office at 982-5243 before 5 p.m. Friday.
Sunday evenings, Manchester Catholics holds a "Gospel and Grub" meal and fellowship time in the chapel beginning at 5 p.m. Some students attend mass together at St. Robert's Catholic Church Sundays at 11 a.m.
