Black Student Union (BSU)
The purpose of the Black Student Union is to promote unity throughout the African American community and spread that unity among students of other cultures at Manchester. This organization was developed for the social, emotional, academic and psychological development of African American men.
BSU activities include cross-cultural trips to museums and other colleges, theatrical productions and various presentations, facilitation of leadership opportunities, Black History Month convocations, participation in gospel festivals, and a variety of other social and outreach activities. Our peer mentoring service offers male African American students possibilities for professional and social development opportunities throughout their Manchester careers.
Our new men's organization is called BROTHERHOOD, and is facilitated by John Sams.
The Black Student Union meets on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. in the Intercultural Center. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate.
